'66 Corvette Convertible, Sunflower Yellow, 427/425, 4-spd, black guts, all original numbers matching. High Dollar Ride.

The car was very clean when I started on it... a few swirls and micromars to correct. But not too bad.

The worst part was the THIN PAINT!!! I had to be very careful around the high ridges on the fenders and the beltline.

There were also some areas that the paint was so thin that I could see the primer below it. A few stress cracks in the fiberglass, etc.

Paint is about 15 years old. Base/Clear.

Process:

Washed with QEW
Clayed with Meg's Quik Clay
PC 7424XP, M205, LC Orange, KBM
PC 7424XP, Zaino AIO, LC White
Applied Z8

Interior:

Vacuumed, cleaned seats with Z9, treated with Z10
Cleaned, wiped dash, door panels with 303

Wheels/tires:

Sprayed with Purple Power 50/50 water, scrubbed with a toilet brush, rinsed
Dressed tires with Chem Guys VRP

Engine: (It was pretty clean)

Sprayed and wiped with Sprayway Glass Cleaner

Great job on it Bill, :drool5: very rare color that one don't see that often. Thanks for sharing it with us here....:drool5:

I owned a '78, but that is my favorite body style out of any Corvette!

I wish I had the opportunity to do more nicer cars. So much of my business is people that have neglected their vehicles and now want to sell them or bought one that was trashed and now want it cleaned. Honestly the challenge is greater and the afters are amazing compared to the befores, but when you walk away after detailing a trashed minivan or dodge neon w/ 125k miles..... it's not the same when you look back as when you do a high end vehicle.

I know exactly where you're coming from on that!

As much as I hate doing a destroyed SUV, the before and after shots are definitely dramatic!!!!

With these cars, the befores look almost as good as the after shots, but they're so much fun to work on!!!!! I'd almost do them for free!!!! (Well, not really!);)

The Master of Muscle!
Nice work Bill! You do get a lot of very cool cars!

Here's the deal. I run around with about 8 guys who all have muscle cars and they are all very mechanical, but they're not detailers.

So I detail their cars and they fix mine!

Word travels fast in the show car circuit so I get a lot of referrals!
