Bright Red MB S500

This car belongs to one of my customers fiance. She was visiting from NY for the weekend and he wanted me to give the car a "quickie" before she went home. I only had 2 hours to work on it while he ran a few errands so time was limited. He said to make the tires "really shiny", so that's what I did.

Overall, the paint was in pretty good shape besides a few scratches and bugs stuck to the front.

It actually came out pretty good considering the time I spent on it.

My process:

Washed exterior

Cleaned wheels, tires & wheel wells

Buffed complete exterior with Optimum Polish mixed with a little RMG

Natty's Blue by hand

Meguiars Gold Class Tire Gel for the tires x2 (too shiny for me!)

Super Blue dressing for the wheel wells

I was trying to think of the fastest way to get the best results & that 's what I came up with.

I kinda stole the idea from Scottwax's "pink moose" except with Optimum

Looks great. Mixing a little RMG with the polish is a great idea.

You guys are so freakin' fast.

After two hours I would be lucky to be at the polishing step!

Well, thanks for all the compliments guys.

DSVWGLI: I figure the ratio is about 1 part RMG to 9 parts OP. I didn't really measure when I mixed it up. I kinda went by eye. Before I added the Natty's, I wiped down the car lightly with a microfiber towel to remove excess haze left from polishing. The Natty's really brought out the deep, wet look I was shooting for. To be honest, I think she was more pleased that her tires were shiny than anything!
