Brake dust after detailing

I finished detailing my car earlier today, wheels and all. Had to run some errands and was quite cautious about hard braking and what not trying to avoid brake dust buildup. But when I got home there it was...black specks :wall

I know it's inevitable but do you guys have any tricks to make your wheels last longer before brake dust starts to "stick" to the wheels?

I used Zaino AIO and Z-2 pro on them.

Low dust pads and OptiCoat wheels: best detailing investment you'll ever make. They have brake pads now that make almost zero dust. I used to hate brake dust, now I hardly remember it. My wheels stay as clean as the paint.

Just tried the Meguiar's brake dust barrier for the first time last week, I'll post my impression after a few weeks.

Yeah, ceramic pads from autozone work great. Less dust, less headaches, less problems

I Opti-coated my wheels and it helps get the brake dust off much easier, but doesn't really prevent it. Low dust pads will help, but the tradeoff is typically less initial bite and/or ultimate stopping power. There are always tradeoffs. You can also spray Pam cooking spray on the wheels for easy brake dust removal, per Luke @ TireRack.

I have tried this and the chemical guys wheel paste. By far the meguiars worked better than the cg paste. The meguiars acted a lot like a sealant and the cg paste did next to nothing. After a week of driving with both, I tend to wash my car once a week, you could not tell a difference in the cg pasted wheels. With the meguiars it just seemed like everything just rolled off the wheels when I went to clean them.
