i was detailing a car today and a guy came over to drop this thing off so i could give it to my dad and 1 thing led to another and he asked me what i could do for his drivers side door. It seems like its faded. I didnt try anything, maybe i shoulda thrown some 303 at it idk... anyways, what would you guys recommend?

Clean it with an APC and hit it with a good interior dressing. I'd just try something like cockpit premium because it's a 1 step if it's only dusty like that panel.

Thats not dust. Its discolored. Would it need to be painted or replaced or will an APC work on it?

I wasn't meaning that was dust, I was just saying it's not real dirty. Only 1 way to find out... Try something on it, clean it & dress it.

Probably needs re-dyeing alright, but you could try Vinylex first. Just make sure to clean the dressing off real good if you do end up dyeing

I have no experiance with dyeing so im not going to try it. If and when i work on it i will tell the owner there isnt much i can do for it and it might be under warranty so he could take it to the Porsche Dealer and see what they can do for him. If they cant do anything, i will re dye it for an extra fee.

Is that a good idea?

Pics aren't the greatest, it's kinda hard to tell. I'd try cleaning it first with a brush and some APC to see what you are working with...

you can try using 303 just use a foam app. pad and put a good coating on it and letting it sit a bit before wiping it off.

Just clean the darn thing and dress it before deciding it needs to be dyed. Do you tell a customer they need a paint job before washing and polishing their car?

Yep, I said that 3 times.

Why ask for advice if you don't want to take it??
