Bought me a new polisher this weekend...

Poorboys Rules!
I set out to 'winterize' my truck this saturday, started to polish the hood and noticed some yellow bits flying around. Stopped the polisher to find my original backing plate had started to separate. My PC's 5 years old, and has been trouble free thus far so I can't complain. I've put it through some torture on all of my cars and many other cars as well over that time.

Went to my local paint shop to pick up a 5" backing plate and they only sell the 6" ones. A good friend of mine works there and as he was starting to order the 5" backing plate for me, I decided...what the heck, I'll just buy me a new polisher. They carry the Meguiar's 100v2 there, so I picked it up. it comes with a nice carrying bag and extra brushes.

It's not too much above the PC7424 I already have, but I was impressed with the subtle improvements. All in all, it worked great and I will still order the backing plate for my old one and that way I'll have a spare polisher in the event that one breaks down.

The truck looks fabulous...I'll try to get some pics of it later today.

Anyone else have one of these Meg's polishers? If so...how do you like it?

Congratulations on your new PC !

I have the Meguiars G110v2 and its a great polisher, that has power and much better rotation when using the smaller pads. I only use it for correcting paint in smaller areas, like front, rear bumpers, painted plastic trim, all the more delicate places I dont want my Rotary to get near.
Have had this Meguiars PC for several years, and its been great, reliable, everything on it was designed to be more ergonomic, the motor seems strong enough, and it just works great for my needs.
If you do this for a living, my opinion is that you have to have back up, so I have a few machines, to back up each other, and I dont lose any time fixing one or chasing another one down to finish the job.
Enjoy your new machine !!!

Congrats on the purchase! I love my G110v2 and the ability to precisely dial in the OPM you need for the situation!

I also have one. I just got about a month ago it to replace the g100v1 that i have, it still works. But compared to the v2, it blows it out the water!! Congrats on the purchase, you will find it to a amazing tool. Id still get a backing plate for the pc, as stokdgs said having a spare is good thing.

Congrats on the new purchase !!!! Don't forget to post some pics of your results !!!! :bigups:bigups:bigups

Congratulations. I wish I could justify getting one but I have a Flex 3401 and my PC. Once my PC goes out I'll get one

Looks like I made a decent choice...thanks everyone!

I'm hoping tonight I can grab some pics...last night was too busy.
