Bought a Tornador... blew me away with speed & ease of interior detailing

I don't know how I detailed without this thing... It's called the Tornador. Made by Car Tool, but I'm sure there are others.

Basically speeds my interior cleaning by 75%, while improving overall cleaning from ~75% to 95%+..

Vacuumed, hit the carpet with the Tornador, sprayed some degreaser, scrubbed the carpets, then the Tornador again. Lines were done with a brush :)

Plastic pieces just got hit with the Tornador, scrubbed quickly with a brush, then wiped off. Then a dressing was applied.

VERY happy with how easy that was, and looking forward to saving some more interiors

Mine should be arriving Wednesday! (ordered a while back but was backordered):chairdance

What product did you use in your tornador, if you don't mind me asking?

I'll have to double check Monday, it was a combination of 1oz degreaser, 2oz interior cleaner (brand I don't remember), and 7oz of water. Approximately that ratio :

What Tornador model do you have? Also what size compressor did you use? I have been on the fence about getting a Tornador, not sure if my compressor is big enough to run it. Your work looks fantastic.

I've been eyeballing that thing forever it seems like, but just haven't been able to pull the trigger on it. This has me considering it again lol

If you do even a tiny share of nasty interiors the Tornador is worth its weight in gold. If you are primarily a shiny paint type detailer that does not do much interior work, it will probably set on your shelf a lot.

The Tornador puts out A LOT of mist which will fill a confined area rather quickly. Just be careful breathing in the wrong fumes. And yes I love my tornador black. I just don't understand why some places charge more than twice what other places charge if you're willing to wait for shipping.

4.5 - 6.5 FM @ 90Psi is the minimum requirement. Use a vapor mask, vac tool is awesome as well.

I have noticed with use that my compressor is NOT big enough. I have a smaller compressor, maybe 20 gallon? and I notice that as soon as the pressure drops from max to just before when the compressor kicks back on, the rotating bit in the nozzle doesn't work nearly as good... it needs a constant 115-120psi in my opinion. My Dad has a huge older SWAN compressor about 300km away that I'm waiting to get... once I have that I think it will run at peak efficiency for the entire time.

Also, pick your chemicals well, my local detailing supply company gave me the interior cleaner specifically designed for the Tornador, somehow it doesn't fill the room with mist like the other stuff does, it falls to the ground. I know I SHOULD use a mask even though, but compared to the first time I used it, there is probably 80%+ less particles floating around.

Name of these chemicals ?

Thanks -

I know there's an enzyme product from Tornador and I agree that the fumes can be overpowering and respiratory safety is a must. I use different jars for different chemicals - APC, Degreaser, Hospital Grade Odor/Stain remover is my 'safe' product.

Tornadors are definitely a must have. We have a 1/2 dozen of them in our shop and they get used a fair amount. What's note worthy is that anytime I hire a new detailer they really think these tools are a savior to detailing and they really take a liking to them. Then, I start noticing that interiors aren't coming as clean as they can and they're taking longer to complete. Great tool, just don't get carried away with them and know their limitations.

Definitely use a vapor mask. I've tried using the Tornador with a few different APC's, Degreasers, and Interior Cleaners and I've found the Enzyme Cleaner from Tornador to irritate my (admittedly sensitive) nasal passages the least.

I've got the original and the black, but can't wait to get this one ...

Tornador Blastor Vacuum Attachment TB-017

That tool is amazing. It's like cheating.

For the blastor vacuum attachment, do you need a tornador already? Or is it a standalone product that I can use with just my air compressor and shop vac?

Standalone product. Just connect it to an air compressor and vacuum. The suction is amazing for hair and sand.
