Cliff notes on bottom.
Long time since I last posted but summer's almost here and im getting back into detailing. Did a interior of a Honda Pilot today...6 kids....you know where this is headed already. Ive got some pics of it in my gallery from last summer/fall.
Anyway, got to my friend's shop (its his wife's car) and went to work. I didnt have a vacuum but she said she had a small one I could use. Come to find out that it was a small handheld one, the rechargeable kind. I took out the rear seats and by the time I was almost cleaning the rear of the driver seat, the thing was almost dead. He handed me $50 (I didnt want to charge) so I ran out to Home Depot to see what I could get. Looked around and found the one I wanted. Wasnt too big and had a strong hp and amp rating. Its a Ridgid WD4050 for $70.

Got back to the shop and went back to work. This vacuum sucks really well, is lightweight, and takes up little room. I saw some bigger ones for the same price but they would be too bulky to carry around and since ill be using it mainly for detailing, the 4 gallon size isnt a drawback. For $70, I think this is a very good vacuum. Craftsman has a similar sized one for the same price, but this Ridgid comes with a 2.5" hose instead of the small 1.25" hose. Havent used it to blow anything but will get back on that. Maybe next week ill update the post. All I need to get now is some attachments for crevices and some extension hoses so I dont need to move the vacuum when im doing a car. One more thing. I had 3 people come up and ask how much I charge.
Too bad I dont have a set price list yet.
. (searching autopia for other peoples pricing right now..

Was detailing a Honda Pilot, the only vacuum available was a small rechargeable one. Ran out of battery in 5 minutes. Went out to Home Depot and got a Ridgid WD4050 for $70. Works well and is very portable.
