So I bought a new Honda Pilot for the wife last night.

Told the dealer not to prep it.

Plan on claying, PwC and EX-P.

Question is: Should I clean condition and dress the leather?

What do you mean by break in properly?

I use lexol cleaner and conditioner then usually dress with 303 protectant.

Well you want you seats to be properly nurtured so that when you ride in it all the time, the seats get used to being dressed and everything. This way they get the dressing and conditioner in the leather and messaged in there when the seat first starts to get sat in all the time.

You dont want to never dress a seat then drive it for 30k miles and then start to dress it, by then the seats are already cracked and its too late. Get what Im saying?

The seats should be fine for a while. I've never seen a brand new car that *needed* the leather dressed immediately. The best thing to do is keep the seats clean and dress them about every 3-6 months.

I agree. You don't really need to clean and condition them right away.

Do it if you like, but I don't know what this "gets used to being dressed" business is...

Moved to AU forum by the way. :)

Update. Have had the car for about 2 months now and the 303 that I dressed it with is holding up great. Feel like they did when I first applied. Love 303
