Had a BOSS 302 in the garage yesterday which was supposed to come in in pretty good shape. Unfortunately it wasn't quite as clean as anticipated.
The dealership had applied one of their famous "brush-on" lifetime paint sealants which was garbage. The car was frequently washed at the dealership and it showed.
The paint was heavily flawed, marred and sooooooo dry to the touch. This quickly devolved into a serious detail.
Regardless, the owner will be put on a better regiment of taking care of his baby now that it's sorted out!
The interior photos will come later as I have a 9-5 M-F job and couldn't put more than about 12 hours into the car yesterday.
Paint correction:
Stage 1: LC orange pad with Menzerna SI1500
Stage 2: LC white pad with Menzerna SF4000
Wax/Sealant:
Coat 1: LC Red pad with Wolfgang v3.0 sealant (love this stuff!)
Coat 2: As above, cured overnight (overkill, but whatever)
Coat 3: LC Gold pad with Fuzion paste wax
Hand wash
Masking off the matte vinyl:
Paint condition revealed:
Don't even need the tape line to see the corrected (Left) and uncorrected (Right) side-by-side difference:
Close-up of the corrected paint:
Engine bay cleaned via waterless wash (MANY known issues with the electronic injectors and water intrusion with this motor) and steam cleaning:
