BMW ownership??

Yeah, F1, times have really changed and that "near luxury" segment of the US market sure is crowded with worthy competitors.

I would not have considered a BMW 10 years ago. They were plagued with problems, primarily electrical, that never seemed to get resolved. Competition and lofty prices have forced the mfrs to get it right and they should!

I don't know if so many owners are concerned with re-sale since a great number of the vehicles are leased and turned in at the end and the driver just grabs the keys to something fresh.

BMW has made tremendous progress and I suspect the new X3 will do well but have yet to see the pricing on that one.

Choose a car as if it were your lover.

As JetBlack said, he choose his 330ci and every time he parks it he turns around to check it out. Doesn't that remind you of sneaking a peek at your girl's derriere when she doesn't know? It's a GREAT feeling of pride that I wish everyone could experience, both in their mate AND their car!

As for the car/lover comparison, what do you want:

-Model Gorgeous Primadonna, totally unreliable, pricey = Ferrari

-Very hot, yet practical, pricey but not outrageous = BMW

-Attractive, infinitely reliable, priced right = Honda.

Those are VERY broad, but you get the idea.

To each their own, but CARPE BMW!

*** kicking, tire spinning, loud and pure muscle=Cobra :D

As for the BMW--the 2003 540i sport with the split spoke 7 series wheels and the M5 accents is such a sick car...then of course the 7 series sport is the true cruiser/pimp car :up
