Yeah, F1, times have really changed and that "near luxury" segment of the US market sure is crowded with worthy competitors.
I would not have considered a BMW 10 years ago. They were plagued with problems, primarily electrical, that never seemed to get resolved. Competition and lofty prices have forced the mfrs to get it right and they should!
I don't know if so many owners are concerned with re-sale since a great number of the vehicles are leased and turned in at the end and the driver just grabs the keys to something fresh.
BMW has made tremendous progress and I suspect the new X3 will do well but have yet to see the pricing on that one.
