BMW Jet Black --What now??

BTW, what are your thoughts on Titanium Silver? (In terms of looks, paint quality, etc.)

I wouldn't buy it again. Hides swirls and dirt very well if that's what you're looking for, though.

Ah, ok. I hadn't seen them side by side before. But actually I haven't paid much attention to the E92 coupes because I always knew I'd be going for the E90 sedan.

Sparkling Graphite was on my color short-list until I learned it was axed. But maybe it's just as well. One of the things against choosing Titanium Silver and Sparkling Graphic is how common and over-produced those colors have been. Which is one of the main reasons the two reds (crimson & barbera) are in my top 2... just a little bit more uniqueness/exclusivity, despite how common E90s are becoming on the streets these days.

In terms of paint quality it seems to be similar to mine; medium hard to hard. I think it'd be very easy to maintain. In terms of looks I find it pretty boring. I know a lot of people think all silvers are boring but I disagree (just check out Porsches GT Silver); but TiAG is just kind of bland silver.

Sparkling Graphite was the most common e90 color, but was pretty rare on e92's (8% I think); ya, e90 SG's are all over the place. Same with TiAG. Don't see many Crimson Reds or Barbera. Have you thought about Space Grey or even Bluewater?

Yep, that's pretty much why my list of 4 (color) finalists dropped down to two.

Space Grey I'll consider, although I would expect it to become quite prevalent as well over time (in the same vein as SG and TiAG).

Bluewater - no.

As for the other blues, I really like Montego Blue, but one of my best friends has a 335i in that color. And Monaco Blue is too similar to my wife's Altima. So the blues are out.

Thanks for the clarification. I guess I was confusing the names for Melbourne and Imola.

I thought Sparkling Graphite was replaced by Space Grey.. Didn't one of those two above-mentioned colors replace the 06-08 "green" and something else?

Is that what I have to look forward to on crimson red as well? :nervous:

When I took delivery of my Crimson Red, it was not like that at all. I had a very light rainbow nowhere near that, and all I used was a white pad with Menzerna Final Polish to remove it. IPA wipedown to make sure it was gone and sealed and waxed.

Cool. Good to know.

BTW, are you happy with your color choice? No regrets going red? The friend I mentioned that has the Montego Blue one thinks I should go Barbera Red instead of Crimson Red, and that Crimson would be too bright for a sedan, in his opinion. :think2

On the other hand in terms of a spectral range of colors I think that Barbera Red as nice as it is would be too close to the color of my current DD, the Sentra listed in my sig. This is "Cajun Spice":

I've never owned a bright red car before and I think it may be time. :woot2:

I love my color choice

I was looking at Montego Blue, Monaco Blue and Arctic White

The only reason I took the Crimson Red was the light Dakota leather with poplar trim
