BMW E60 M5

Ben P. - You can't post here anymore...The vehicles you detail just blow away everything over here in the US :D.

Looks stunning!

Wow that's awesome... Would make it a nice sleeper too. Just slap some DR's on the back and most people that you'd race would never know what hit em...

There was an `05 E55 AMG at the track a couple months ago. I lined up to race against him and not knowing anything about those cars I thought it's gonna be a pretty even race. Well... I was *a little* wrong... he ran 11.1 while I ran 14.3...

Everyone keeps raving about the SMG transmissions, but I'm still kinda bummed that there isnt a 6 speed model.

All SMG gearboxes have been six speed. The E36 M3 had SMG I which was awful, the E46 M3s had SMG II which was great (especially in the CSL as it shifted a lot quicker and matched revs better on downshifts) and the new M5 rolls out with SMG III which is actually a SEVEN SPEED gearbox, although according to Matt he doesn't think it shifts as quickly as the CSL, but this may be a limit placed on the gerbox by the DME until it's run in.

Very nice job on the detail, Ben!:xyxthumbs. That's surely a fine automobile with fantastic performance, but I don't think I could praise its exterior design. It's certainly aggressive looking, but I think it looks bulbous and bulky (just like the base 5-series) - the opposite of your recent beautiful M3 detail. I think the wheels look great, though. Just my 2 cents. . . .:) .

BenP,

Sweet Detail on a HOT car! :bow :bow :bow

Souveran as a final topper on black = Perfection! :xyxthumbs

I must admit, I really like the former M5 styling much better than this car. I also must admit that the E60' M5's technology and raw horsepower is right up there with some of the more exotic "Supercars" out there.

Again, a great detail!

Cheers,

That is one AMAZING machine! The paint looks flawless too! :up

Unfortunately you're wrong, it's OP city. I've mentioned it to my dealer a number of times and it's apparently because BMW use water not solvent based paints, which is a shame because with a decent paint job their cars would look even better. Perhaps when I've learnt how to wet sand I'll do my entire car and take it them to see!

Everyone has gotta live with OP this day and age. Would you want to wetsand a brand spanking new M5 to get rid of it?? I sure as hell wouldn't!
