BMW 745 Wet Sanding a Re-Paint

Wow, that reflection rocks!!!! That BMW cart is awesome too!!!!! I still get googly eyes over that lift you have Richard. What an awesome thing to save back pain. Every time I see it I am envious!

Take some pics of that when you are finished, it's gonna look incredible outside.

A great recovery work on the 745 and now the paint work looks crystal clear.

Btw, regarding the 3M products, should we use Ultrafina SE first than follow by glaze or the other way round ?

Gen2: I use the Ultrafina SE following a glaze and polish. At that stage, you could use Ultrafina as your last step, but I put a coat of Meguiar's #26 on the cars with a porter-cable. It seems to add some "glow" to the finished vehicles.

gmblack3a: I might try the Presta line out in the near future.

Here's some more reflection shots of the wet sanded side. Tomorrow, I'll power wash the car and apply a coat of Meg's #26 with a pc.

I did try a new process out between compounding, glazing, and Ultrafina SE: The compound dust is pretty abrasive, so I used Optimum No Rinse to remove between each step. Very easy to do and I think the finish appreciates it between steps.

Finally got to snap off some outside shots of this car....it's done and put on the showroom! And the car transport delivered 7 more cars to do...so I'm gonna be busy for the next couple of weeks!

Door reflection shot on the side that was wet sanded and compounded...came out nice!

Outside shot of the car...this is the side that had the horrible re-paint orange peel.

The dealer is going to set up the order of cars to do, so I'll grab some pics starting tomorrow.
