A few more quick pics of that '04 Carrera from last time (Poli-Seal, Natty's Blue). I was out to do the first wax on his wife's new GL450 and in the week since I'd detailed the Porsche, he drove to the Texas panhandle and back and the car was filthy. Cleaned right up with ONR and still looked insanely wet.

2007 Mercedes GL450. Only a few weeks old, didn't let the dealer touch it per my recommendation. The paint looked really good, so I went over it with Optimum Poli-Seal using a white LC polishing pad and topped with Optimum Car Wax. Super easy two step if the paint is in decent condition.

This shot shows (sorta!) the two large glass panels in the roof:

2002 Honda Civic. Regular customer, I see it and their LS430 every 6-8 weeks. Wash one, wax the other. Civic's turn this time. No need to polish since I did that the last time. I used my 80/20 blend of Meguiars #16 and FK's Pink Wax. Turned out very wet. :)

2006 Dodge Dakota. Just wanted a quick one step on it. Optimum Poli-Seal and a white LC polishing pad.

Last time I get to do this 1996 BMW 740iL. He bought a brand new BMW 650 and it giving the 7 to his Dad. I deep polished it over the summer and it still looked pretty good, so this time I just went with Optimum Poli-Seal using a white LC polishing pad, 80/20 blend of Meguiars #16 and FK's Pink Wax by hand.

Only a couple of pics, I only had 4 shots left on the roll and no backup. I wanted to at least have a couple shots of the 650. ;)

2007 BMW 650. Dealer tried to sell him a sealant package, he said he just laughed and told them not to touch the car. All it needed was some Poli-Seal via white LC polishing pad to noticably deepen the shine and wetness. He was amazed that a simple one step could make a noticable improvement on brand new paint.

Great job as always! I especially like the 2 BMWs, they look so deep and wet.

That GL is HUGE but those dual glass roofs look sweet.

A little off topic but i one used a 80/20 blend of RMG/OP on a 200 mile C6, black. And it made a very noticeable difference in darkness/wetness in the paint. It had been washed once by the dealer and once by the owner, so it had slight swirls, hence the optimum polish. I then sealed it with wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant.

Sorry now back to topic.

GREAT JOB ON THE BEEMERS SCOTT.

What would've happened if his 650 got your 80/20 blend?....tooooooo wet? :LOLOL

I'm thinking this guy will always have the confidence to buy black cars since he's got you to make it all super nice for him. It doesn't get any wetter than those black Bimmers...that's for sure.

all of the cars look great! but the 740 and the GL450 look DAMN HOT! i love those cars:D BTW, i've never seen a 650i, in portugal i think i've only seen 630, 645 and M6...

Excellent work! The wettness of shine achived on the lighter colours is particularly impressive as its not easy to achieve such a finish on ligher colours like white and silver. Black BMs look supberb too. :up

All of them look awesome as usual. Insane depth on that 740, and the 650 is really hot. Looking forward to you posting more pics of that one in the future.

Scott, I hope David sent you a Gallon of the OPS as you definitely put it to work. All of those cars and trucks look fantastic, especially the 650 and 740, Im AMAZED at how OPS looks as a standalone. Great work as always!

How do you decide between the PC and the Cyclo? (I find myself ALWAYS grabbing the rotary now, but you seem to be pretty unbiased between your 2 machines)

I honestly told myself I was just about done purchasing products in December but now I find myself heading to the AG site for some OPS among other things. (no point in just ordering 1 thing, right. :hairpull :chuckle: )

Probably but it would have been too dark by then to get pics. ;) Besides, the focus was the740 this time. He typically has me detail his cars every 6 months but now he wants me to come out once a month and wash his vehicles too.

Thanks! He even said to me yesterday "after you leave, there isn't anything I can do to my cars to make them look better". Made me feel pretty good. :)

BTW, see the bike sitting in the garage in the 2nd picture of the 740? He said he no longer rides it and gave it to me for free! It is a 21 speed Trek MultiTrail 750. I had planned on buying a bike to ride in the winter when I can't skate (inline) so now I don't have to spend the money.

RogueM3-I too am amazed at how great OPS looks as a stand alone, plus how well it does on minor defects. No free gallon though but I have a local distributor who gives me a really good price on Optimum products.

Typically, I use the Cyclo for correction and the PC for finishing or if the car has odd contours the Cyclo has a hard time following. I have found that using the Propel turbo 4" pads helps with the Cyclo though, since the added thickness makes it more usable on those types of vehicles.

I still plan on getting a rotary too, I've been running into a lot of Audis, Corvettes and Mercedes with the treaded "C" (for CeramiClear) in front of the paint code lately. :nervous2:

Joey-I've been taking care of that Civic for about 4 years now (since it was about 6 months old) and it just shows what regular care can do for even white vehicles. Basically, it gets waxed 4 times a year, and polished every other time it is waxed. That's it, nothing special at all. I am a firm believer (like pretty much everyone here) that seasonal attention to the paint really pays off down the road with a car that looks better than when it left the factory in most cases.

Bigpoppa3346-believe me, I am looking forward to detailing it again. I am not a huge fan of the Bangled BMW's but he did get the 6 right. I'll have to get some interior shots next time, it is just beautiful inside!

Great work Scott (as always). I've been doing BMW's exclusively for over 3 months and like their paint for polishing.

I use a rotary in the BMW shop and have a Cyclo and PC. But, I recently bought a Festool Rotex 150 FEQ and it's replaced the Cyclo and PC. What a fantastic piece of equipment!

I just used it to correct a "very" nasty deep scratch on a 740i that was on the hood. The shop owner had written the scratch off as "too deep" and the rotary just rounded the edges of the scratch (see pic).

You can see the scratch in the middle light reflection and follow the curve. Pretty bad

I used the Festool in random orbit with a yellow Propel cutting pad and a "slurry" of Optimum compound and Pinnacle XMT-1 light swirl remover. This combo gave me a long working time and it took a total of 30 minutes of working/checking to remove the scratch.

BMW740iL_HoodScratchGONE.jpg

Here's the finished car with a coat of Pinnalce Paste Glaze. Not bad for an 80/k used Bimmer.

If you get a chance to try the Festool, you'll definitely become attached to it.

$50 cash too! :bounce

I pumped up the tires last night (totally flat, it's been hanging in his garage for 4 years without being used) and took it for a quick spin. Very smooth bike, shifts really quickly too, and you don't hear the chain drag over the gears during shifts, just instant shifts...reminds me of the M3 with SMG I got to drive. Move the lever, next gear instantly!

Shifters and derailers have come a long way since I last regularly rode in the late 80s.
