Finally got the chance to do my car today. It had dealer inflicted swirls on it from new but I haven't had the time to get them out - until now! The light was really poor by the time I finished (and it had been raining) so the pictures aren't that great, but it gives you an idea! I did notice a few scratches that will require individual attention, but I didn't have the time to do them today.

Sonax Gloss Shampoo

Clay Magic Blue

#80, DAS Green, speed 5.

#7, DAS Blue, speed 4.

#26 liquid, Megs finishing pad, speed 4.

Megs Endurance High Gloss Tyre Shine

Hyperturismo's Wheel Wax

They're not buffer marks running down the side, they're a reflection!

I really like this shot - gives an indication of the depth and clarity of the shine.

Don't know what that is in the crack on the wheel arch - I'll have to go and have a look!

Great work Ben and a nice car :xyxthumbs

I must say that the 1 Series has grown on me since I first saw one

Outstanding work and great all Meguiars combination. Nice collection of stuff on the shelf in the 4th picture. :)

What kind of drivetrain do you get in the 1 series?

1.6 and 2.0 petrol or 2.0 diesel 4cyl engines, RWD. 118d model has same engine as 120d but has different ECU map.

Mini-site is http://www.theonly1.co.uk but is very Flash heavy and doesn't seem to work in anything but IE.

Looks great :xyxthumbs still not made my mind up on the 1 Series
For similar cash, I'd take the new Golf GTI with the DSG 'box but that's because I probably don't fit the target demographic for the "1". Still a great job though by Ben ;)

That last picture is sheer liquid. Where did you get your pads from.

I ordered the DAS pads from Autopia Car Care. I bought a load (3 Orange, 4 Green, 4 Blue) to keep me going. I get my Megs pads from Alex at Serious Performance here in the UK.

Very nice work Ben - the 1 Series has really grown on me since I started seeing more of them. Colour seems to play a big part, as yours looks superb but in lighter silver they don't look as good - maybe it takes the edge off the lines?

Are you in Oxfordshire? Just guessing from your road sign collection...

Nope, I'm on the Surrey/Kent border but went to Oxford Brookes Uni...

Agree with you that the 1er looks a bit pants in lighter colours as well.

Ben

That explains it - I won't ask how you "acquired" those signs Ben - but I'd guess that it involved blowing some of your grant on liquid refreshment.....?

Ben,

Great car and a great shine.

BTW, I noticed that there is no badge on the rear of the car., i.e. 120d. I was recently in Europe for a week and noticed only 2 BMWs with badges. Does BMW not but badges on the European cars, or does everyone de-badge them?
