Bling bling bling!

Links to pics of my new car attached. I'm massively happy with the results and also the lack of poor dealer prep. I could only find 2 minor scratches, both of which buffed out by hand, and some minor swirling on the rear bumper but otherwise nothing.

Process:-

Pre wash by using a 30/70 mix of Megs Hot Suds/water in a spray bottle to all lower panels and leaving to soak

Wheels - Megs APC+ for tyres

Sonax R2000 for wheels

Wash using Mothers California Gold car soap

Clay using Sonus clay/Megs Hot Suds 5/95 soap/water as lube

Dried using Sonus waffle weave detailing towel (see note below)

Polished by hand using PB Prio polish

Carlack 68 (review to follow SOON) by hand

SG x 1 by hand

Nattys by hand

Carlack 68 to wheels

PB B&B to tyres - 2 coats then buffed straight away

1Z Windscreen Clear on glass

My BIG discovery this weekend was using the yellow Sonus WW detailing towel to dry the car - no dragging, no marring. I figured this may be because it's so much lighter than a conventional WW drying towel and although it became saturated much faster, it did a far better job of drying - my ultimate *I hate* part of the process as it's where IMO the most damage can be caused.

I must thank Pugman for the sample of SG - think I may be breaking that "no more spending rule" - again....

Hope you all like:D

EDIT - I should add that it began to snow as I finished this, hence the water droplets visible - these were taken 24 hrs after detailing

Thank you - sig updated too!

Looks can be deceptive - it's actually lowered by a 1700cc turbodiesel engine but the amount of torque gives it the equivalent mid range performance of the 2000cc petrol model but 60+ mpg

Cheers guys!

A "great job" from Scottwax - doesn't get much better than that! I'm a happy man and flattered by the praise - thank you.

Alex - 8 hours of labour and 3 nicked knuckles cleaning those wheels (never had to clean blood from a wheel before...) but loved the PB pro polish - seemed fairly easy to use too with no issues in removal.

Nice work Andy! When ya gonna try the UPP then? :D

As soon as my fingers thaw out Craig:D

Seriously, I'm itching to try it but not sure whether I should/can lay it straight over Nattys - what do you think?

I should have added that I found the KSG really easy to use; I'd heard the warnings but in true British style I thought "nah, I'll try it my way" and it actually worked - I simply used a MF applicator, sprayed a few drops of SG onto it, wiped it along the panel in straight lines, waited maybe 30 seconds and buffed with the CBT - easy as anything!

If anything, I actually preferred the look post KSG and before Nattys - the wax seemed to take the pop out of the paint - weird!

Andy, I wouldn't put the UPP on top of Natty's - I'm sure you'd have bonding issues. Best to apply it straight after AIO/Carlack or another suitable paint cleaner IMO. I just put on my 3rd layer of UPP down both sides of my car yesterday - looking good, but I don't reckon any additional layers will offer any more improvement in the looks department, so I'll be leaving it at 3 for now.
