I picked up a new 2013 Nissan Altima about a week and a half ago. Last weekend, when I washed, clayed, and waxed the car (845IW ... love that stuff!), I noticed a small white spot in the metallic silver paint on the front left quarter panel. Please see below. The spot is about 1 mm in diameter. The clay did not take it off, nor did Klasse AIO. I can't feel it, so I think it's in the factory clear or paint.
I took the car to the dealer (who has a body shop) for another issue (the tape used to attach one corner of the factory rear spoiler to the trunk had not adhered to the trunk), and I asked the Service Manager about the spot. After he came back from the body shop to tell me about the spoiler, he said that the Body Shop Manager thought that the spot was near the surface of the clear and that some wetsanding would take care of it and I would never know they had done it.
The wetsanding concerns me. Do I have a reason to be concerned? Am I better off just leaving it alone? Or to try to polish it out with the mildest polish I have? I really don't want to start thinning out the clear. Anyway, any advice is appreciated! :thumb:
