Blacura CL - Most Swirled I've Ever Done

That's right. This is by far, the most swirled, scratched, and abused finished I have treated and who's is it? My best freind's :scared . Very sad to say that, but I had to fix it for him.

As you can see, the finish is noticeably dull and scratched even in full shade. I worked my TAIL off bring this thing back to life and I think it all paid off in the end. I battled the rain on and off all day. It took me a total of 7 hours for just exterior. 4 of those were spend with just the cutting pad/rotary/DACP. That's how bad it was.

BTW: Acura uses non-metallic pads and a place he brought it to for brakes put on metallics. It ate away at his rotors and left brake dust etching into his rough surface rims. That's the reason it wasn't removed :(

From now on, he washes and cares for it as I tell him. This is what I did:

-Mother's Gold Wash

-Clay Magic Clay

-Mother's Gold Wash

-#83 DACP via Rotary and LC Cutting Pad @1500 rpm (4 hours and multiple passes)

-#82 SFP via Rotary and Meg's Polishing Pad @1500 rpm (very lightly to remove haze from DACP/Cutting)

-Wolfgang Pre-Cleaner

-Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant

I will be layering WG on this car and washing it reguarly. Next time I do it, I will take sunny pics. This day was just shot.

Enjoy!

It looks much better thanks to you. One question why wash again after claying? If anything why not just go over the car with QD if that's even needed after claying. My personal opinion is the second wash is some what of a time waster and since you do details for profit this would help you save time.

Yikes! Nice turn out though - I think that is about as good a job as you can do with a damaged finish. Thank God he has you for a friend. No Honda/Acura deserves that kind of neglect. I love those old CL's

Thumper: Thanks for the compliment. The wash after clay literally took me an extra 5 minutes. It was worth it compared to risking anything left on the surface or QDing it. I forgot to mention, I washed it a third time after all the polishing. I had cut up soo much paint that it looked like springtime pollen again.

GS-R Jay: I hear ya man. It was soo sad to see him come over. I like the style of the car but it was soo neglected. He doesn't have much time to care for it how he wants nor really a place to do it. I will be introducing QEW soon and giving him a nice product list.

Scott: Thanks man. I almost wanted to quit. It felt like forever on that rotary. This job IMO couldn't have been touched by hand or PC. I was ready to run to my supplier to get some Compound Power Cleaner or something. The day after this detail was the *only* time I've ever been sore from detailing. I'm glad I will be upkeeping it from now on.
