Blackfire verses Platium

Has anyone done a comparo between BF and Platium protectants?

Which produced the better wetness, shine and depth?

What color was this comparo done on?

Was this comparo done with the "improved" Platium?

Thanks:wavey

Original Blackfire and Platinum gave me similar results. Both were easy to apply and remove. Both looked very nice, much more soft looking like a carnauba if that’s the look you’re after. I’d give the edge to Blackfire. Very warm and deep. Used both on pearl ridge blue (dark) and white.

Slickness was lacking on both, Platinum was a bit better in this department. The new Platinum does have more slickness though. I haven’t had a chance to check durability since I used it on a car I don’t have the opportunity to check up on.

Durability wasn’t great on either. With 2 coats of protectant they both seemed pretty tired at about 3 weeks.

So many products, so little time……

Oh, supposedly I have some of the “beta BF on the way.

I'd have to give the upper hand to Platinum in the reflection catagory. I think that they both protect about the same, but I like the depth of the reflection of Platinum a little better. Blackfire looks more like the carnuba 'wet' look that we all love so much. Platinum doesn't exactly have that going for it. Platinum also doesn't have the dust attraction problem to the extent that Blackfire does. That isn't a problem that a couple layers of carnuba couldn't handle, but it is a pain at first. I'm looking forward to testing the new Blackfire as well. I need to start stocking up for next year and it will either be a garage full of Platinum or Blackfire depending on how this new formula turns out. My customers have always been very impressed with both of them.

Thanks guys,:xyxthumbs

Looking for a new experiment for this winter. Maybe Zaino and Platium or a combination of Zaino,BF and Platium:nixweiss . Something to break the boredom of not driving the Z28 this weather.:wavey

I thought you were a Klasse Fan.

I applied Blackfire on my Subaru for the first time last night by machine. Both the polish and the Protectant were very easy to apply and remove. I used Meguiars DACP first and it really looks great, although I think I will use the #9 Swirl Remover next time since it's less agressive.
