BLACKFIRE PolyClay

IME, it is slightly more aggressive then the BLUE while still not marring the surface. It is the most aggressive clay grade I have used that doesn't not mark the surface.

does this also apply to softer clearcoats like on Japanese cars i.e. toyota/lexus?

I was happy you did the test on a black panel but then I saw it was a BMW...

Ive used Blackfire clay for a couple years now and used in on at least over 100 cars the only cars Ive had get marred are a couple Prius and one oddball BMW with supersoft paint.

You can not use just soap and water for lube or it will marr.Make sure to use a good quality clay lube with it.

I will bring this back to the top, as I have a black Honda.. Todd?

This is such as difficult question to answer...

Is it the clay that is marring or is it the removed contamination (which is coating the surface of the clay) that is causing the marring. The more contamination that is present on the paint, the more likely for marring to occur.

Extremely soft paints, such as those that are easily marred by a super soft microfiber towel, are going to be prone to marks no matter what product is used.
