Black Wow: Review

Here is a quote from the guy who applied the product in the video.."The point of the last step on the video was to show that even when sprayed with water, that BW remained intact. To answer your question, YES it probably will, but if the rainy day is a pouring thunderstorm for 20 hours, then no silicone product will survive that. It will certainly survive numerous car washes He doesnt state that applying water in the end is for durability, rather to show it stays in tact when water hits the product. And pretty much in the statement says the product will have a hard time surviving wet weather.

Well, like I said several posts back, any of these type products are just silicone oils, BW is apparently a really thick one. If you want something fundamentally different, I guess you've got to go with some sort of polymer that is actually "curing" like SG, Z-CS, OS, or one of the Ultima products. I've had good luck with SG on trim in good condition (and #16, 845, etc. for that matter). I guess the problem is when that trim is faded...the stuff that protected it when new doesn't really do it anymore.

I have 2 bottles collecting dust. It does not penatrate like it should. Heck, I can use baby oil and get the same results. JMO

I paid $25 bucks so i have to like it.

Yeah I paid about that too. But I ain't gonna lie. I don't like it. It smears all over your car when it rains. And someone will say I use to much. But it does not get absorbed by the rubber to do any good. So I use other products.

It's not for rubber and plastic trim pieces doesn't absorb it. It does make it look ok

for a little while, however. But wouldn't say, "Wow." Except, "Wow, i paid how much?"

it's simple... if you don't like it or have a problem (you may want to explain) with it, contact richard and i'm sure he'll refund your money...

Not trying to start anything here but I used BW on the rear plastic "step" on the wife's Envoy several weeks ago and it has held up nicely. Including one run through an automatic carwash and 2 rains with no runs or stains.

My bottle does say "wipe with a wet paper towel" after applying, which I did, then buffed with a towel after an hour or so. So far I'm pleased with it...

It is a PIA to get off the paint though...

It seems to be ok, but so are a lot of tire dressings. I thought it really seemed like a pain to apply for the mediocre results.

I used it on the rubber seal trim on back window. It did not do well at all. I thought it being a silicon product it would work. Wrong.... It gathers dust now.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that this stuff is not substantially different from dressings like Hot Shine gel, for example. It's just thick silicone oil.

Sooo.... is there a better performing product out there that someone wants to recommend. I personally like this much better than Back to Black from Meg's.... but, it's expensive. (gotta know what to buy when thsi stuff runs out :help: )
