Black vw paint correction help

Hey guys I posted on here a while ago about me buying a black vw passat and got advice on how to protect it and what to use. Well the time finally came and this mourning the car was mine, it's dam pretty. Well my question is now the car has minor swirls in the paint probably from the guys who stone guarded it washing it and I am looking for a product to use by hand(and apply out doors) to take those out befor I apply the opti coat I have. I was thinking optimum poli Seal.



Please let me know if I am on the right track here, also the car will be washed and clayed today and emblems removed, then later on in the week rewashed and polished and opti coat applied. I wash with onr two bucket method and guzzler micro to dry. Help is much appreciated.
 
IMO no way you will get any swirls out of VW paint by hand. Time to step up to a machine or have a pro remove the defects prior to opti-coat.
 
Exactly, Bryan is 100% correct. I believe I suggested not to have anyone touch the exterior. Oh well.



As Bryan said, either order a Porter Cable machine, or have an Autopia type detailer do it for you.



Not an easy paint to work on, and if you are not very good at polishing, you can do more damage than good.

Thanks guys. I told them don't touch it at all but at the same time I wanted rock guard installed and whoever installed it, In stead of just washing were the rock guard goes must have washed the car down. Other then that no ody has touched it except for me.



Also I think I will end up buying a PC just because I am in the process of restoring a 1967 Chevy el camino and my parents just bought a car that could use a buff. I would look around here(local) for a detailer but I don't have much faith in any of them( labour shortage here all the people doing this for a living are sixteen) and I have an old truck I can practice on. Thanks again and I just got some pictures of the car I will post them when I can. Again thanks for the help and any suggestions on what compounds and pads to buy to start out with would be appreciated. Also I won't have time to do the polishing for about a month or so(shutdown at the plant I work at) what would be a good wax for black to protect it in a harsher environment, and will just buff off when it comes time.

As far as a PC, the one 3D is releasing will be available any day now. That would be one more choice before you pull the trigger.

Using Poliseal on VW clear is like throwing a cup of water on a burning house. You'll need UNO or Megs 105 and a machine to put a dent in the swirls. I'd just get a pro to do your Opticoat.
 
Hello fellow black vw owner. :) I'm by no means a pro, however I recently corrected the paint on my '08 black jetta. I bought the car used a little over a year ago and it was swirled up pretty bad.
