Black Porsches

Anthony- Your great work kinda goes without saying ;) What I found especially interesting was the different approaches you took on those two.

Was the Cyclo white/OCP enough to effect much real correction on the first one? Not being familiar with the paint on today's Porsches I woulda thought it too hard for that

I've seen more damage done in the wash process...

Ain't *that* the truth!

Hey Accumulator.....thanks :)

Porsche paint is fairly soft and while I would of LOVED to of done a 3 step rotary process to the Turbo the dealer only wanted it to look "buyable". The salesman and a few of the service guys loved the way it came out...they were puzzled as to why I was not happy with it...but it did look alot better and only had left a few areas that really needed some rotary work.

The white pads and the OCP worked great at leveling out the top most marring and then the second go round gave it a nice even shine. Some marring was still present but the heavy eye-catching stuff was dealt with. You can't blame the dealer really as they truly want the customer happy with their purchase and the car to be perfect BUT they can't control what happens at the factory and then en-route to the dealer.

Dealers are often given the blame when in fact it's the port guys and/or factory doing alot of the damage. Like I said, it had buffer burns on the rear deck lid prior to the dealer guys touching it.....such a shame they don't treat cars in a more gentle manner.

Here's a '01 twin turbo that my customer bought with only 800 miles on it. It was swirl-free UNTIL he washed it..you know, Dawn, bath towels, dishrag...ugly.

Ugh, one time at my old apt complex there was an older guy washing his late model SL500 Mercedes with dish washing detergent and scrubbing it with a dish sponge! I asked him about it and he says it's the way he's always done it and works good. :sadpace:

Thanks for expanding on that. I'm so used to reaching for the green Cyclo pads that your choice of the the white ones had me

I thought these cars get transported covered in plastic and other protective packaging from the factory. How the hell do they manage to damage the paint at port??

Good work by the way, I wish I had talent like that. Those wheels I think look awesome, I love 'em, really fit the look of the car. BTW the 911 is my all time dream car, I've wanted one ever since I was 4 years old.

What more can be said...

Porsche + black paint + Anthony = flawless!!!!

Your posts are always "must see" material for me Anthony...just stunning. :bow

Anthony,

is it just me or the new OCW has a more glass-like appearance? What I miss from the original OCW is the immediacy of its shine. It looks good on the next day though.

Hey guys...I have said it many times before but thank you all very much for the positive feedback.....it's very much appreciated, thank you.

Bence -

The NEW OCW is pretty much the same formula only with some thicking agents added so it won't seperate but it did seem to smear a bit on black. This could be due to the high afternoon temps we have had here in South Texas. I am doing a wetsand project right now on a Bmw M5 and I will use the old OCW on one half and the new on the other half and see what differences there are.

Thanks again,

Anthony
