Black Mica 2012 Mazda 3

mjlinane

My name is Mike
When its predecessor (http://www.autopiaforums.com/forums/detailers-showcase/39223-what-happens.html) met an early demise, the owner decided to replace it without the Mazdaspeed trappings. About 3 weeks ago, he found one of the last "new" 2012s with manual transmission and bought it. The Mazdaspeed had turned out so well last year that he wanted the same treatment done to this one.

It arrived and I could already see there was going to be a fair bit of work to do.

Then after decon and better lighting, I could see it was even worse than I'd suspected.

Moral of the story: Don't let dealers wash your car. ;)

And the paint was really hard, too. For the first time since I got RUPES, I had to pull out the big guns - Megs M101 and Megs Cutting MFs.

The paint tamed, I rinseless washed and made sure the paint was ready for OptiCoat 2.0.

Looks awesome Mike!!! M101 and MF cutting will cut through anything LOL!

So M205 didn't put a dent on the paint?

Thanks Marc.

Used M205 for the finish polish. Opti Hyper Polish, Hyper Compound and M100 all couldn't cut out enough of the defects - at least as quickly as I would have liked.
