Black Magic Liquid wax

ok so i decided to try black magic liquid wax to see if it was as good and if not better than nxt tech wax. Well i tried a small portion on my hood and it looked stunning. It was so smooth and hid so many scratches and stuff. So then i try to do my whole hood and while i was removing it, it appeared to be still kinda liquidy. Very tough to get off i had to scrub as hard as i could. i must have used 5 towels and using every inch of the towel to get it all off. It looks amazing but its so hard to get off. Has anyone used this wax before and can help me out on why its like thsi? Am i not letting it dry longenough?

Even though I have not tried BM, in general there are couple of things that that may have caused your problem.

The weather could have effected it, if it was too humid
Did you use it in the sun, was the surface of the car very hot.
You may have put it on too heavy.
Apply LSP's thinnly, anything more than what is adhereing to the surface is only being removed, so you are just throwing away product, and could make removal more difficult

As for how long it should be left on the car, check to see what is say on the instructions (if it does).

Hi,
I use Black Magic as well and have not had any of the same "liquidy" problems you had. Its definitely harder to remove than NXT...I found it to be more "powderly". Almost the exact opposite of what you found!

I agree, the results are very good and the wax will last twice as long as NXT imo. Just use thin coats and make sure it dries to a haze.

Good luck and let us know how you make out when you move on to the rest of your vehicle.

Hi,

I found that Black Magic acts up like that in very humid weather, if the bottle is not well shaken or when its put on too thickly. Takes awhile to haze up / dry properly. Produced a nice look when I last used it but didn't last long. Let me know if you have a different experience with it! ;)

ok, thanks for help all you guys, it was extremly humid when i did it. lol 101 degrees ! so i did it around 9 when it was abour 70 and in very thin layers. went on very thin and came off very nice after i let it dry. The look is so good. way better than nxt imo. Try it sometime! Its a guarnetted wet shine!

ive used this wax way before proper detailing. i never disliked the look. but i dont quite rememebr being soo static about it. i do rememebr being all jumpy about nxt. but again, all that was all before proper prep and knowledge came along.

the cherry scent isnt too bad either
