Black Label Synergy reviewed - Shine on a whole new level!!!!

First things first - your MS3 looks great. Tastefully modified too.
Second, this product looks very promising and seems to be a great fit in the Black Label family.

Todd, can you apply this wax directly after using the BL paint coating or should you wait 12, 24 hours?

And if the vehicle is previously coated with BL paint coating, is it overkill to use the surface cleansing polish after wash (with BL soap) and prior to applying this wax?

Thanks in advance

I think I'm a Black Label junkie, lol. I just postponed my vacation this week to book another job so I can save for this wax!

Also, do you guys need a Texas test vehicle? haha

Nice review. Looks like another winner for the black label line.

By the way nice presentation at detailfest. I caught it on the live stream.

Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!
I get a little nervous but do my best.

Yet another category... Coating-Wax. Sheesh.

As the industry and technology moves forward, we will always see new categories pop up, particularly when they push the limits of previous categories :)

You do want to wait sometime after the coating and the wax, 4 to 5 hours minimum, with 24 be ideal.

It is overkill to the use the Cleansing Polish UNLESS the surface needs it. If it has been 4 months or more, it is a good idea to lightly clean the surface with the Cleansing Polish prior to application.

Can someone help me decide which products I should "stack" with this?

2004 Lamborghini Gallardo, Giallo Midas (pearl yellow), 10k miles so paint is perfect. I've been using P21s cleaner and "100%" Carnauba wax.

Should I use anything under the Black Label Synergy? Can I simply pre-wax clean with the P21s product then use synergy or should I strip down with something else first? Does it do any good for the shine to use the black label paint coating before the synergy wax? I don't mind waxing frequently so I'm mostly asking for shine and not durability.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to trying this stuff.

If I were you. I'd purchase Black Label paint cleaner to clean your paint. And then Synergy to wax. That way you keep everything "in the family" so to speak. Using Black label paint cleaner will ensure a proper surface is ready for the wax. If you're a frequent waxer, like most, I'd avoid the paint coating unless you wanted ultimate protection and then layer your waxes.

Good luck!

Synergy will look amazing on the yellow Gallardo. You would want to clean the surface with Black Label Cleansing Polish first, as P21s features some glazing oils that will effect the bonding.

From a shine perspective, yes, adding Black Label Coating first would increase the shine even more. Wax is an opaque (see through) film, so increasing the gloss first will have some effect on the look.

I'm confused about the difference between a polish, coating and sealer.

Why would someone use a sealer instead of a wax? And what exactly does a coating do (for shine) that a polish doesn't do?

Polish is an abrasive product, like toothpaste for your paint. It uses microfine abrasives to smooth the surface and increase the gloss. Polishes do not offer protection (note some companies call their waxes or sealants "polishes", such as Zaino and Duragloss).

Sealant - Sealant and wax are terms used to describe a product that adds some shine and protection to the paint by forming a sacrificial layer. Waxes tend to be natural and sealants tend to be synthetic. Sealants tend to be brighter and longer lasting than waxes, which tend to have a rich, natural shine. Some people apply waxes onto of sealants to get the best of both world's.

Coating- Coating is a super-long lasting protectant that forms a semi-permanent or permanent bond to the paint. For all intents and purposes, a coating will become the new functional surface of the paint. They offer the most protection and most durability, but also require particularly application methods.

Coatings (as well as waxes and sealants) all form a protective skin on the paint. This skin is going to increase the gloss by altering the way the light is reflected. Polishes increase the shine by smoothing the paint to a mirror finish. For best results, the paint should be polished for maximum gloss, before a wax, sealant or coating is applied.

So, I'm looking at polish, coating, synergy wax.

Is my car going to look $300 better from doing that? I've been happy with the P21s but always looking for something better.

Are there any good discounts out there? This is kind of pricey. If I order the paint coating I might as well order the $200 kit that includes wheels and glass. $400 for wax is a bit insane.
