sorry I didn't really format this the way it should be but I felt obligated to make some type of write up for my experience with this product. plus this is my first product review so i get a free pass :)

products involved (well mostly)

and the daily driver

2006 nissan frontier crew cab 97000+ miles
a.k.a. "Jerry"

I have the glass and window coating as well but I recently ran out of sonax so I am waiting until my new supply comes in the mail to use before I coat the wheels.
I have a rock chip that needs to be filled on my windshield before I do the glass coating (unless you're telling me these nano glass particles will fill that chip as well :) )

Process:
Foamed CG citrus red, rinsed, ironX, rinse, then ONR
Speedy Prep Surface Sponge: Fine Grade (wasn't really even necessary but just got it so I figured I would give it a try)

M105/M205 on the hood, roof and front fenders (megs DA drill attachment and megs red/yellow pads-4 inch)

M205 everywhere else (megs da drill attachment, yellow pad)
*except for the back tailgate-I did not polish this because I wanted to be able to feel (and show others in person) the texture difference from the rest of the panels after the coating with only clay and no polish except for the surface cleansing polish

Black Label Surface Cleansing Polish via red CCS hand pad
Black Label Paint Coating via LC coating applicator

Application:
The Black Label Surface Cleansing Polish advertises as being easy on and easy off and that is what I experienced as well. A little went a long way. I was worried about not using enough but it spread quite a long way. The residue wiped off very easily with a miracle towel and ultra plush cobra. I had zero issues with application and removal from the first to the last time I used it.

The Pump on the cleansing polish is awesome. Why can't we purchase these?
I am not sure how it will work towards the end of the bottle but that probably will be a long ways away.

Smell: Coconut? The cleansing polish reminded me of the smell of the first wax I ever used as a teenager, zymol cleaner wax. It has a very nice smell.

The Black Label Paint Coating applied very similar to a wipe on walk away product like Optiseal except you could tell it left a much thicker film than the optiseal which pretty much vanishes after contact. Two sprays to prime and then two or three sprays per panel except for the hood of course. Most of the high spots were erased with another swipe of the applicator pad and I cant say that I really saw many left when I was doing the wipe after each section but there were probably some. A second wipe with another ultra plush cobra and a close inspection assured all residue was erased.

Smell: NOT recommended, lol. Smelled it after the surface cleansing polish just out of curiosity and while I expected it to smell foul it smelled like straight alcohol- which reminded me to wear a cotton mask, and this helped during application as the smell does hang around your nose inside a garage

Thoughts:
The cleansing polish and paint coating were extremely easy to apply. I had zero issues except wondering if I could double coat it the next day-lol.
I have had this truck looking pretty nice before but now the truck looks like it was painted last week. I am impressed with the results so far and I have yet to see it in midday sun. it has a very nice bright glow on top of the paint in person. cant wait to get some nuba on top. I would highly recommend this product and I think I only used about three full pumps of the cleansing polish for a small 4 door truck and only about 30 pumps of the paint coating spray (might have been a little too much but wanted to make sure it was coated well)

No before pics it was washed a few days ago. No full sun pics yet either as I finished at 6am monday morning and let it sit in the garage until 6pm monday. sun shots will be posted tomorrow

I will be updating here and again to post about my experience with durability, etc.

Pics:

pic was taken about 30 minutes before sunset

need recommendations on what to use for the running boars

I cant wait to coat the windows and wheels too. And right after that video I had a previous client come to the liquor store I work part time at and I showed him the coating and shortly afterwards booked him for a paint, wheel and glass coating treatment this week.

Oh and also my idea of not polishing the tailgate with 205 paid for itself as well because he was able to feel the difference in texture on the two surfaces and understand why he needed the light polishing step

Re: Black Label Diamond Paint Coating: Initial Impressions

it didn't rain over night but we had alot of moisture in the air- enough so to get some shots

as you can see the only water still really left on the truck was on the top of the hood and the roof
i didn't get a picture of the sides but most of it had already rolled down the panels

after hitting 45 on the road all of the water started to roll off of the whole vehicle and i was only left with four little beads, yes i counted them, of water still on the hood right were there is a ridge by the front windshield

Re: Black Label Diamond Paint Coating: Initial Impressions

beading courtesy of black label elite coating kit with Dodo juice double wax (hard) on top (supernatural topper to come soon)

Re: Black Label Diamond Paint Coating: Initial Impressions

Would I be correct in thinking that we are looking at the performance of the DOD Juice here since it is topping the Black Label? The truck looks great no doubt but I never got topping a coating unless you are dissatisfied with the look, feel or protection.

Since the black label is new I would have liked to let it run on its own.

I would never top my EXO v2 because I like the look, feel (slickness) and the protection to date. Plus I want to see how long the initial 2 coats last.

Same with the opticoat.

If the beading were slowing down, or I felt the protection was compromised I would top it up with a non permanent wax or sealant just to get me through the cold weather.

good point. and i did think about that i just wanted to put something on top of it. it will run its course over the next few months but i cant say that i wont be topping it with something else in the future-its just a problem i have.
im sure everyone understands, especially ron. lol

honestly i cant really tell much of a difference in beading/sheeting-but the dodo juice hard wax did add some depth to the shine

Re: Black Label Diamond Paint Coating: UPDATE

posting an update (3 month mark) to my thread here to post on durability but mostly to show off these sweet frozen bead shots I got thanks to our little winter storm here just south of Austin Texas.
Only in the mind of a fanatic like ourselves do we secretly welcome freezing weather as it can provide some pretty cool pics.
It wasn't really a hard freeze but I was able to get some decent pics that show the black label paint coating still going strong.

Coating has been on a little over three months. I used the coating booster on the hood once and have used the coating detail spray here and there on the truck and it has been washed with the black label shampoo the last 5 times or so. (which is some awesome stuff btw)

had to clean it up after the past few bad storms and show off the new window tinting all around (yeah thats limo on top of the factory smoke in the back-I like my privacy)

these first few pics are from the side of the truck where the wind and rain were mostly coming from

looks like it froze before it could escape the surface

I don't really know what to make of the roof- it looks like the water was trying to flatten out, I guess I was just expecting more actual beads up there

this is the passenger side. wind was mostly coming from the north (passenger side facing south)

as you can see not much to show here on the passenger side- still some nice little beads on what water was left

once both my phone and photobucket can agree to upload the last two photos I will have a pic of the hood and back glass

thanks for viewing

Re: Black Label Diamond Paint Coating: Initial Impressions

Can ya just decided......... "Hey, I'm gonna throw another coat on."? or do you need to polish and start over?

Re: Black Label Diamond Paint Coating: Initial Impressions

No problem. I really like this stuff. So does every customer that has paid me to polish and coat their vehicle.

hey Todd, I was (unsuccessfully) trying to change the title of this thread to "Black Label Diamond Paint Coating: Impressions and Updates"
any way you can help out?
