Black Hellcat with PBLv2

This was the backpack auction detail. For the non random thoughts thread readers, I donated a basic 1 step (essence + spray sealant) detail for an auction for my local car club to raise money for a yearly backpack drive we hold.

The auction ended up gaining far more support than I expected and I knew this guy was going to win. The bid was 500, half of our clubs entire goal. Thats a lot of friggin backpacks for the kiddos, so I felt obligated to bring it, plus...my name is on this detail afterall.

Yes, I didn`t have to go overboard like I did, but if you felt the same way I did about these cars and that cause, I`d hope you would understand.

Anyways...

I spent a total of 23 hours within a 47 hour period (and went to work 8 hours in between there). If not for the Olympics and lack of dvr I`d have spent longer I`m sure. There might have been two very long nights involved here.

The Wash:

Snow foam via kwazar
Super Slick and Suds
2bm
Micro mitts
Brushes
(Taped off a towel under hood vents for safety sake)
Cobra clay mitt with sss bucket
Probably missed something
Hydro2lite on glass

Wheels:
Wolfs iron remover
Brushes and micros
Hydro2lite on front wheels/calipers
Wetcoat on rear ( just wanted to use it)
Rupes p808 as "drying aid" after blow dry

Lsp: pbl v2 and coating booster

Here is what I was working with

The Cut:

Rupes Lhr21 mk2
Rupes Lhr12e Duetto
Rupes Lhr75e Mini
Rupes Nano

1)Blackfire src compound (rupes green pads and blue where needed- blue on nano pads)
2)Blackfire src finishing (all rupes yellow pads)
3)Carpro Essence (carpro gloss pad and flex small black pads on nano)
Optimum paint prep
Lots of DMTs and UMTs

Tail lights: pro polish2 via green nano pad, essence via black pad, pblv2, pbl coating booster

Continued around entire car

And that`s it. Left him with lots of goodies for his car.

Might have done this for charity a donation, but also picked up a monthly regular and a reason to pick up a fresh growler from my favorite brewpub in Fredericksburg (where he lives). Monthly day road trip here I come.

Great work as usual on these Hellcats and SRTs.
I`ve yet to ever see one here in NJ.
Just a used SRT when I was window shopping at the local Dodge dealer. They said i could drive it after completing the sale paperwork,
Guess they think i was poor or something.

finally sun shots!

I saw his wife using the pb glass cleaner with her folded up ww glass towel and then pull out some good micros and use spray and gloss on the paint.

i refilled all their sprays- not an issue to me as theu are actually using them and i wss quite floored to see NO marring on the black in direct sunlight. my work still in tact. he fired the mobile guy he said. they took my advice on frequent rinses and RW at home.

But he tells me he wants to bring me his car early next year for the 3-5 year coating (CSL) and I wasn`t really sure how to respond.

he said he has no issues with this coating, he just wants the best.

i told him we would revisit this later in the year and that i think he could easily get another year of satisfaction out of what is on there now.

then i realized im essentially turning down business..but I looked at his hellcat closely and it looks surprisingly good. there is no need to repolish now.

not sure if that was my best move there but I feel it was the best for his car. pbl may not be the best stuff out there but it`s still no slouch and he can get csl in a year if he wants.

Ironically I am detailing the previous owner`s new Hellcat this Sunday.

this car comes with a bunch of free goodies that the dealership does not even know it has, lol

1 piece aluminum driveshaft
HHP pulley and balancer kits, crank pinning kit, aftermarket camshaft, custom tune, American racing exhaust (I think he had aftermarket headers too but I am not sure)
it`s the nastiest sounding hellcat I`ve ever heard in person

it just has a really funky tune because the place that tuned it specializes in LS motors not these but I know a shop in Houston that could fix those issues for a decent price

we`ll see what the bank says though, lol

me too! it all depends on the sale of my SRT, though.... on trade in most places are wanting to `you know what` me but my neighbor has been wanting a mopar for a few years now ever since he rode in mine 3 years ago and he recently sold his car and paid off some debt so he has a small downpayment and is shopping for a charger or (preferably) a challenger but doesn`t have a lot of money to spend

enter the idea of selling him my car for just straight up the excellent KBB value which is like 17 or 18 (and I`d give him all my spare and new uninstalled parts that would easily total another 2k in worth) and taking that as money down which would get me about 35% or more down on the vehicle which would make a bank have a hard time not loaning me any money I`d imagine and ideally I`d like to try to keep my frontier, although if they wanted to give me anything decent for it I`d be willing to let it go and daily drive this car for a year or so until I found another cheap vehicle that does not have an impending lifter failure issue

dealer tried to give me 14, AFTER negotiations on my SRT earlier this year when I wanted to upgrade to a scat pack shaker 392 or newer srt challenger

$17-18k sounds like a steal. What year, how many miles on your Challenger? Given the condition of your car I wouldn`t think it would take long to sell it.

2009 with 82k and some change.. I`ve thought about sitting on attempting to sell it at 20k and letting someone talk me into 18 or 19 or whatever

I understand you have to pay 6.25% sales tax I believe if I private sell it so I have figured out what I`d need to get trade in or private sale relative to each other and private sell is really the only way to go here

also it would be pretty cool if my neighbor who lives directly across the street bought the car because I`d have another test vehicle, right there! haha

Im planning to cover the rest of my srt in csl + exo since I have those two bottles that I opened for the quarter panel and trunk

hell I`d even throw in some free car washes if he bought it because that would make getting this cat sooooo much easier

now I will also mention that if I get this hellcat I am going to have to cancel my DF plans because I`ll need that money for tires
