2000-something GMC Envoy Denali. Extremely nice vehicle, actually very clean. But the swirls were horrible!!!:scared::scared::scared:

I thought I'd try a one-step correction and it worked very well.

PROCESS:

ONR Wash
Zaino claybar
M205, PC 7424XP, LC Orange Pad (One Step)
Blackfire Wet Diamond applied with PC and 3M Black Waffle Pad
Topped with Z8

BEFORE:

This is not dirt, these are SWIRLMARKS!

Awesome job Bill

That was one heck of a one step, looks like M205 has some pretty decent corrective ability on its own, not too bad for a finishing polish

Fabulous 50/50s and sun shots.

I've heard that M205 works great on "light" swirls, so I thought I'd give it a shot on "heavy" swirls! I was pleasantly suprised!

The reason I wanted to do a one-step was time constraints. All I had to get this done was this morning. I had to have it done by 11:00 am so the one-step was the way to go.

Luster, nice turnaround with your chosen approach. You mention the stopping time, but not how long you spent in total. Curious as to your working time with 205 /panel. No need to tell you the expanse of panel/paint you worked to correct during an apparently short period of time.

Were you working under cover or under sun?

Also interesting is the relative clear finish, on black of all colors, with the LC orange pad. Which specific LC orange pad were you using?

These types of results continues to pique my interest in this Meg's product.

I was using a LC Orange CCS pad. I was outside, but I started when the sun came up. It was only 62 degrees and the total job took 4 hours, so I was finished before 11:00. Still only 72 degrees when I finished.

On hot days I'll work in the garage, but it was so nice and cool, I couldn't resist being outside.

I would say I worked each panel (1/2 the hood for example) for about 7-8 minutes.

I think the key to getting a very shiny, non-hazy finish with the orange pad is greatly reducing pressure at the end of the polishing. The first 5 minutes are heavy pressure. Then I usually spritz the pad with one shot of water, then very light pressure in figure-8 pattern rapidly for about 2-3 minutes.

Wow that is a heck of a 1 step. Nice job. GM's clear coat is usually pretty hard. I have been fighting the 105/205 combo because I want to use up some of the other products that I have. I am getting closer to giving in to temptation when I see results like that.

You are correct, GM clear is very hard, but, even though this vehicle was a "Swirl-Fest", the swirls weren't very deep. So fairly easy to correct. (Once again, heavy pressure)
