Black G37 rescued from 13K miles of hell *56K* vaporlock

Great job man! I hate Infiniti paint, I have to deal with it every day... but you did a great job with a nice even and perfect restoration of that car!!!

Great save! This is proof that :

"Black is not a car color for everyone"

36 hours well spent. I hope you were charging by the hour because you delevered a car in better than new condition.

I would bet he used a 3M scrubbing sponge on some of those areas!

Hey Joe - dumb question but are you using the flex orbital or rotary when doing correction work?

Great recoveries:bigups Rest assured you'll never have a shortage of work with all the pinheads out there messing up your craft :lol

Thanks everyone!

siperwrx , this paint was pretty soft. I have a 03 M45 and thepaint is pretty soft, but I have run into some Infinitis that have pretty hard clear. :nixweiss

15951, absolutely and he was eager to learn. He is actually the sales manager at a local dealership and was so happy to hear that someone actually knew how to solve the problem that he was having with the car. He was having his guys "wax" it every week to deal with the swirls.

Spilchy, we are using the orbital--takes a bit longer, but with the correct products it's a no-brainer for our shop.

THANKS!

Only here were like minded clean freaks can appreciate the MONUMENTAL effort that went into correcting that car. Thirty six hours that you guys did on that car was a low grade restoration!!!, most customers only see the finished product, their perception is just like reading this post, you have the befores then the after pics with NO FLIPPING IDEA what it took to get the car into that condition.

Superb job, like all the recent "black" car pics you guys have posted lately:goodjob

Looks like too much fun is being had ;)

Do you think a Dawn wash would have had similar results in removing the oils? What might you try next time around when faced with a similar situation?

Excellent results, btw.

We always have a good time!

I don't hink dawn would have touched it! I could have just let it dwell for a little longer, or wiped it with prep sol once we got it inside--which is pretty much hat we did...

THANKS!

dpe_g35, yep rock chips--the front was hammered!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. G35/G37 paint can be some of the most difficult to chase deep rids and finish out hologram/micromarring free (after wipedowns). Great job, this is some of the most impressive work on here, thanks for sharing!!!

Thanks, it was really tough! It's almost like this paint takes any polish and amplifies its ability to fill! Wipedowns are a must for these finishes!

That was amazing, looks like you painted it instead of just buffing it out. If I ever get back to TN, I will have to stop by and say hi.

Mercy. What a correction nightmare for such a new car. Confiscate the owner's present washing tools and set him straight. ;)
