Black Ferrari 360 Spider Scratch Removal and F430 Red Quickie

I finally finished this very nice black F360 Spider. The car had a ton of swirls and some light scratches. I used my old go-to product: Meg's #83 on a polish pad running 1,000 rpm. Following the Meg's, it was Menzerna IP, then a coat of Z5 Pro, then a wipe down with the new Pinnacle Souveran Spray Wax. Approx 1.3 of the body has been covered in Clear Bra material so, I taped that portion off.

After 83 + IP on the fender to see if that was going to work for the rest of the car.

dirty exhaust tips were cleaned with Wenol Blue and a cotton buffing wheel on the drill.

The Souveran Spray Wax added some depth to the Z5 Pro...very nice stuff

Washed the wheels of the F430 with Meg's Hot Rims, then soap and water. The body had some light dust, so I used ONR mixed for Quick Detailer to remove and a topper of Pinnacle Spray Wax.

I showed the owner the light scratching on the driver's door and he is going to bring the car back for scratch removal/polishing/and a complete waxing prior to winter storage.



I got a "spirited" ride in the F430 as the owner had the shop install a new custom exhaust. It was like a Formula 1 ride with leather interior LOL.

Amazing correction on the Black Ferrari Toto! awesome shine and reflection too, the red one is so sweet also...........:usa
 
Very nice. I know Ferraris are supposed to be red, but I still like black (kinda sadistic I know).
 
Wait a minute. I'm curious - You went from #83 and then stepped down to IP? Cause I'd put those two in the same catagory as a light compound...not like going from #83 to #9 or IP to PO106FF.

RAG, it depends on the pad you are using, I saw somewhere before that IP has less grit than

83?
 
RAG and Harry: I typically start with 83 and use the Meg's So1o Polish pad (has diamond shaped cuts in the pad). 83 seems to correct better than IP and I think it has oils in the product. Then I use IP or 106ff (depending upon the paint hardness) with the Meg's So1o black finishing pad. This gets the paint LSP ready.



Harry, I think you're right about IP having less abrasiveness content than 83.



I always take a test area on a car to go start-to-LSP ready and see what my process is going to be. This was just how it worked on this particular Ferrari.

Question... I've always heard that I shouldn't use any type of wax on top of the Zaino as it would hurt the durability of the sealant.



Do you find this isn't true... or is it that you are using a spray that doesn't bother the Zaino?

That's a good question and I'll ask their rep who lives in the KC area. I wouldn't think a quick detail spray would have any negative effect on the Z5.

Some waxes contain cleaners or very mild abraisives that can diminish or even remove the Zaino. Though it will still shine very well, the durability will be short lived.



As mentioned, most detail sprays don't contain these agents so they should not negatively effect the Zaino.
