~7 months later I made it back home
Quick synopsis- dad`s `farm truck` polished and pa master sealant 3x back on may 17, 2017.
He confessed he has taken it to the car wash where they brush it down before it goes through the touchless tunnel wash.
He did say, however that it still just sheds water like crazy.
He had it washed the day before I came down and I checked it out...it was surprisingly still very slick and had no need for even a claybar treatment.
I did a quick wipedow on the paint with spray and wipe and then gave him a nice layer of PA High Gloss.
It was really really slick after that. I didn`t tell him I did this and when we went to lunch on Christmas Eve he walked into the garage with me and was bragging about how slick his car was. When he saw it in the garage he said "did you clean it last night? It`s not usually This shiny!" And I said, yes, now touch the paint. He touched it and said...wow that`s a lot slicker. What did you put on there?
I showed him the high gloss bottle and he laughed at the lips on the label.
Anyways, thought that was a cool little preface.
Here`s some pics. I didn`t touch anything except paint and glass just fyi, so don`t judge the wheels/tires.
Last two pics are about 12 hours post application.
Thoughts : I saw the stash of car products I have him in May, completely unused.
Car had marring on it but probably would 1 step off, just small swirling didn`t really see rids potential.
I`m surprised the car was still slick and not contaminated. Granted, I`m sure it had some lsp that the tunnel wash provides but I was expecting to have to clay the car. Subsequently I was kind of considering a panel wipe on the car prior to high gloss but I didn`t want to compromise the Master Sealant still on there.
Next summer I think I will see if he still has this vehicle, and if so I will polish it again and try something new.
I don`t anticipate any more updates on this, but if I`m able to make it down there in the next 3-4 months I will check it out again.
