Interesting.... you apply souvern paste (the expensive stuff), then liquid souvern on top of it and get an even better shine?
Well the blackfire didn't last long. It collected A LOT of dust, and quickly lost it's slickness (we've been getting lots of rain). Yea, I know... research products first. I've learned another lesson!
Tried this combo over memorial day weekend, and I think we've found a winner!
-wash
- clay (I liked the BF clay)
- wash again
- Dry with waffle weave. (This was a good investment!!)
I suspect many of the scratches were coming from the bath towels used in the past.
- aio the entire car to remove the zillions of other products we've tried.
- Menzerna IP (some places we had to go over a few times). This is a nice product to use with the PC and it really did a great job of removing the fine scratches & swirls. This step took the longest.
- Menzerna FP II x 1
- Menzerna FMJ (Wow! So far I've tried Blackfire, and Wolfgang). FMJ rules! It is SOOOO easy to apply and remove, and the slickness is out of this world. I would be surprised if it took 20 min to do the entire car (excluding jams & rims).
- Currently layering the FMJ (plan to get 3 or 4 coats), then plan to top with liquid souvern.
We'll have to wait a while to see how durable this combination is, and if any of the minor scratches come back. So far, so good. I like this combo.
