As you can see from the pictures this car was in dire need of a detail. The paint was in horrible shape and had some pretty good scratches which required wetsanding. I don't have much time, so I will get to my process.

Washed exterior, cleaned wheels, tires & engine compartment

Clayed complete exterior with Opti-Clay

Wetsanded heavy scratches with 2000 grit sandpaper

Compounded wetsanded areas with 3M rubbing compound by rotary with wool pad

Buffed complete exterior with Menzerna IP by rotary with mild cutting pad

Buffed complete exterior with Optimum Polish by rotary with finishing pad

Hand Application of AIO

Hand application of Natty's Blue

Dressed tires with Super Blue dressing

Here are the before pictures

Thanks for looking! :xyxthumbs

I've come to expect stellar work from you Rick, but this about takes the cake! :bow

Truly outstanding work on that horrible paint! Doesn't even look like the same car anymore!

Outstanding craftsmenship! I'm truely speachless! Great job!!

A lady who lived next door had the same black vette, it was not that bad but bad enough. I never wanted to mess with it.

wow... that car was horrible. Truely skilled work there. Looks awesome!

I've gotta say though... the vette has some pretty bad orange peel. It's especially prominent in those after pictures. Go figure even chevy's nicest car (IMO of course) gets a cruddy paint job.

Wow excellent, how come you wetsanded? What was the problem before hand.

If you look at the before pictures you will see that there are a few bad scratches that would not come out with normal buffing, therefore I had to wetsand. The panel behind the trunk had lots of scratches from people putting stuff in the trunk, so I decided to wetsand the whole piece.

Couldn't agree with you more! Chevy paint definitely sucks.

wow....the paint looks really good, and the rims look brand new..did you just clean the rims or did you apply a polish to?

The *ONLY* detail that I have seen on that level was the complete wet sanding of an S Class. You, my friend, are on a level with few!!
