Thanks a lot everyone!

I meant Menzerna, not Optimum... I was just checking to see who actually reads my write-ups ;) :D

:sign I don't ever read them. Why would I? I live the adventure with you.:nana:

Amazing job on the compounding Rick! I am sure you wish I was there that day.

The pictures don't even come close to how the car looked after. This was an amazing transformation!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very nice, I have a black I have to tackle. So I have been reading threads on black cars alot lately, nice write up.

That's not the same car... you guys took a ride down to Herb Chambers in Burlington and borrowed a Black A3 for a few hours....

Just kidding... that Audi was not hammered.. it was sledgehammered... jackhammered.. the Mighty Thor probably took his hammer to it! :LOLOL

Excellent writeup, excellent work.... :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

Rick, your new name is Maximus Prime... you are the transformer :). Did you have to change the owner's diaper when he saw the car?

Great job Rick!

You've rescued yet another black car from the clutches of Swirl City...I'd say this one is on par with your black Jeep SRT8 detail from a month or so back. AMAZING turn around! :2thumbs:

Are Menz Super Finish and Power Finish the same thing or no?

Menzerna Power finish/PO203S

Menzerna Super finish is PO106FA

Optimus Prime :p

Rick, I too believe the owner will want to keep the car now. I had doubts the car have such mirror potential, considering how beat down that thing was to begin with. It's great to see you C&Bing again.

I always liked the A3, but am always disappointed when 95% of the time it turns out to be the 2.0T with front wheel drive. Somehow that car has an inch or two more room in the back seat compared to the typical cramped rear seats in an A4.

I also noticed you are reaching for the Spray Nine more and more.

Great Save!!!:buffing:

Hey everyone,

I've been so busy this season, besides other stuff like family health issues / turmoil, planning a wedding, etc., I never got around to responding to this thread...

mini1- The owner was selling the car, so he did not reinstall the clear bra. I'm sure he will on the next car though!

Accumulator- Thanks! Ryan and I have been using Power Finish more and more to finish off on cars using the PC and an orange pad. We have a special process that has been working for us and makes life much easier than performing additional steps that are not necessary. It doesn't work on every car, but has been a huge timesaver on certain jobs.

MuttGrunt- Thanks Matt! It's definitely a cool little car.

fergnation- Thanks a lot! I got very lucky that a 4-step polishing wasn't needed, but in reality, I did spend quite a bit of time on each polishing step. In the end, it was probably about the same amount of time as a 4-step would have been.

OCDinPDX- Swirl city is right! Thanks for the kind words!

bufferbarry- Barry, I thought that the scuffs went through the paint as well, but it was only a little bit of paint transfer, which was easily removed with a little acetone. Let me know whenever you want to come to Boston.

DetailnByDustn- Thank you Dustin!

SoFreshSoClean- Thank you! It definitely needed some love!

rydawg- Thanks Ryan. I sure wish you were there to help with the compounding though!

TheMethod- Thanks! That means a lot!

whis9- Thanks! Good luck!

Hemin8r- Thanks Buddy!

porta- Thanks porta!

snowskate-Thanks Jack! Not a bad little car at all, but just not my style..

DaGonz- Yup, you caught me... It was a look alike! Thanks!!

Apollo_Auto- Thanks Jesse! Maybe I'll change my user name to Maximus Prime! LOL

When time permits, I'd like to hear about your Power Finish-centric method.

Hey Rick amazing work. Very nice turn around. I've seen some brand new A3's and non look as rich as that one.

Do you mind sharing the steps you took to address the scratch on the passenger side rear bumper? Was it just a surface scuff?

Rick, Great job!!!!!!!!!

I will be coming to you next weekend with my Rav4 as we discussed few days ago.

Thanks for taking your time and speaking with me..
