I dug up some pictures I had on my computer of an NSX I detailed last year when I still had my detail shop. I currently detail out of my house on a part time basis.
These pictures aren't the best, but you can see how bad the owner swirled the heck out of his paint in the first picture. He bought a rotary and decided to use the wool pad that came with it along with some no-name polish or compound. The first picture shows the paint after I washed it. He did end up burning the paint on the front lip just above the spoiler but the rest of the car was ok. All in all it came out awesome, but it's hard to tell from the pictures because it was getting dark.
