Black 99' S-10

Just got done with a S-10 with black paint that was in rough shape. The customer just bought it and needed it brought back to some sort of life. He literally said he didn't think he was looking at the same truck when he picked it up. Thank god for my trusty dewalt rotary. I think the results speak for themselves on it's capabilities. These are from the hood and 1 fender area shot. Not to shabby for a wool pad and some wheeling fun :D

EDIT* Pics were way to huge So I jumped through alot of hoops and resized them

The befores:

as you can see the paint was in sorry shape

Another in process shot same location

The Afters:

First reflection shot after the wheeling was done. Can see the lincoln navigator in the fender.

Seeing the fluffy clouds rolling on by staring back at me though the new glossy paint on the hood was a nice shot.

Any after pics with better lighting?

Not sure how much better light you could possibly need. I was outside in almost perfect sunlight. No lightbulb could do a better job. Does it look dark to anyone else? Looks bright as can be on my screen here.

Maybe use a halogen light or the flash like the before pics so they can be viewed under the same conditions. Just a suggestion.

The pics are fine. This isn't the "Show off your halogens" thread so some people will just have to get over the "not perfect" lighting.

Again, nice job!

They want to see shots like these:

Halogens or direct sunlight show whether or not you have removed what needed to be removed. Direct sunlight reveals all.

In your after pic i see rotary holograms, not as bad as when you started but still present.

Coupe. Please point out where you are supposedly seeing these holograms in the after pics (there's only 2 after pics don't confuse the in process pics as after) because we are sitting here just staring at these wondering what in the heck your looking at.

However WWIW I do see a few holograms up by your window sills there in your pics you posted. and what looks to be a lot of fine line scratches in your bottom pic there. But I guess it's ok ;) Still looks like a good job there

I used a PC 7424 DA on the window sills, it cant cause holograms, only rotary can do that. My rotary only touched the hood, fenders, doors and rear quarter panels. The PC did the roof, sills, bumpers and side skirts on this particular vehicle. What your seeing is glare from the sun. Its a common site in full sun shots. If you look at the C&B section and look at some of the after pics in full sun you will see that. There is an obvious visual difference between sun glare and rotary holograms.

I dont know how to point them out on a computer screen if your not sitting here next to me.

The in process pics are just that. In process. The first one was half compounded half untouched. The next one was the next step with my polish setup. But no neither of those are the finished product. that was cloudy reflection shot.
