Black 91 300zx TT Detail

This was my first ever attempt at an extensive detail. It still needs more work, I wasn't aggressive enough to get out all the scratches that I would have liked to. Please excuse my crappy camera, I got it like 3 years ago for $30, it doesn't really do the Z justice, but it's better than nothing.

I do not have any before pics unfortunately. But it hadn't been washed in probably 3 months and had just been on an 1,100mi journey back from school so you can imagine what kind of shape it was in.

This is what I did:

Exterior:

NXT Wash

Sonus Clay Bar

Poorboy's SSR 2.5 applied with portercable and Sonus Green Pad

Poorboy's SSR 1 applied with portercable and Sonus Green Pad

Sonus Paint Work Cleanser Pre-Wax Polish applied with portercable and Sonus Blue Pad

S100 Wax applied by hand

Stoner Invisible Glass

Eagle One Wet Tire Shine

Interior:

Vaccum

Auto Glym Leather Cleaner

Auto Glym Vynl and Rubber Care

Stoner Invisible Glass

Hope you enjoy the pics.

Reflection in my passenger side door (origional 15 year old paint) across my neighbor's yard. I love the amount of detail that can be seen so far away.

Just want to say thanks to this site, I did quite a bit of research on this site before I started buying any products and the results were awesome.

Thank you, it sure was a lot of work, but also lots of fun. I'm still trying to learn a few more things mostly some time saving techniques because this wasn't just an afternoon project for me. I see posts by people that can do this sort of work in like 6-8 hours and I guess I just can't work that fast.

Thank you, I love it too, it's actually 99-spec, but close enough. The tail lights are also the 99-spec version.

could you have gone straight from ssr 2.5 to wax?

From what I've read you're supposed to go back over the 2.5 with the 1. And then after that I would still polish before I waxed.

nice. wow those are some thick rubber on teh back.

Yeah, they are the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's and they don't make them in 245/45/16 so I had to go with 245/50/16. And I actually kind of like them, they fill out the wheel well a bit more.
