I don't think he's much concerned with them--he wants it to be fast. If it looks good, that's just an added benefit. :D

With the motor and the NOS he will have no problem being fast. Does he race it (hence, big tires in the back little bicylcles in the front) or does he just like that drag race look?

He drives AND races it, he is at every Tuesday and Thursday night "test-n-tune." To my knowledge, he has never shown it.

Beautiful work. That charger is just plain stunning! I hope someday I learn to make my vehicles shine like that.

Thanks man, but most of that is due to the integrity of the paint job--I just enhanced it so that the true beauty could shine through. :D

What pad on the PC with the HT Heavy Cut?

What other products are similar to it as far as aggressiveness with your pad / PC useage?

What a dream paint job to work on with that Charger!

First off, Hi--long time, no see. :D

Sorry, I used a SM Arnold green light polish pad, then a blue SM Arnold finishing pad for the FPII. As far as other products, hmm...think more aggressive than DACP, but with less hazing, much more cut than 2.5, but finishes twice as well. This is only the second time that I have used it via PC, so my use is limited. I have used it scores of times with the rotary, but obviously that doesn't help much here.

You aren't kidding, just beautiful paint!!

That is one UNBELIEVABLE job on the Charger, probably the best I've ever seen! Question on the Durango: what did you use to get the front bumper so clean?

awsome job! the owner has 2 chargers?

The work on the Charger is well, more than I find words to express.......perfection comes to mind. Is the carpet cleaner coughing up hairballs from the second one?

Awesome job on both. Does the HT dust with the pc?

I can answer this one; it does, but not for awhile. You need to work it for a really long time to get it to dust, so in general not really.

I can't get over how clear that paint is. I've only seen one other car with paint that OP free and it was a ~$18,000 paint job.

I agree with the HT dusting comment, it will dust, but I work it until it is almost gone. It's no Menzerna IP, but it's no optimum either. :D When worked correctly, it will wipe from the surface with no pressure from the MF towel--another reason I used it on this soft paint.

I am not sure what he paid for the paint, but I believe that it was around 6K--worth every penny IMO. This is the finest paint job that I have ever seen, period.

Sneek, yep I detailed the other Charger in June (I believe), it's black with black 20's, mild drop, debadged, molding removed, tint, etc--I think he was testing me out to see how I would do before I touched his baby. :D

Really amazing stuff, right? I hadn't used it in so long that I actually forgot how well it works. I am glad that we started talking about the HC in that other thread started by RAG--really made me want to dust off the HC--thank goodness I did!!

Damn...ya just don't see those kind of classics here is SoCal. Man I love that Charger. That is my favorite muscle car...in my favorite color. Almost bought one about 10 years ago, but it was a little to tuned up to be a daily driver.

It almost like they didn't buff it out properly in the first place...from the pics it's almost like a combination of wool induced buffer swirls and washing swirls.

6K for that job? That's a steal and a half!

Almost forgot to ask...were you able to confirm what the painter told the owner in that the last two coats were the new style black ss paint (like the lexus black) where they mix the base coat and clear together? In other words, did you get color on your pads?

Cause I love the lexus black. It's the paint I'd choose if I were having a black car repainted.

This is perfect, i havn't seen anyone use HC or Hi-Temp by itself with a PC. Thank you so much for posting this thread as I am now convinced it will work :). Great car and great detail by the way. Those dog hair will scare the heck out of me. What did you use to get them all out?

Yep, he told him that the last two coats contained clear and black, also said that it was PPG paint. There was indeed paint on my pads throughout.

I didn't really see too much buffer swirls, but the owner hinted that the paint job had looked like this since he got it back from the painter. He thought it was "haze" or a build up of wax--he absolutely stunned that it could be made clear again. Hopefully, I have gained a customer for life. :D

Also RAG, I wanted to ask you---On the passenger side rear qp, you could see small "dots" almost like pitting(you can see it in the pic). It was only present in that area, ever seen that? Any idea what that is? I know you see a lot of repaints...

artikxscout, remember this paint was *really* soft, so YMMV on "regular" paint. :D

Looks like solvent popping to me. Just a guess.
