A forum member parted ways with his modified C6 and recently picked up this 08 C6Z (soon to be heavily modified as well) and wanted it looking ship shape. So I got to work, and about 14 hours later it was looking much better. Finished late in the evening on day 2 so there are no sun pics, but made sure to get good halogen pics to show the correction.
Correction process:
M105 + D300 on Megs MF cutting disc
Menz SIP on LC orange pad
Menz 106FA on LC black pad
No LSP on repainted panels as they were going to be wrapped in clear film shortly. OCW on the rest of the car to provide some protection until the clear film was finished. BFWD will follow upon the film completion and full paint curing.
Upon arrival it looked pretty good. The front had been repainted, so lots of bodyshop glaze had to be removed to see the true condition of the paint.
The bodyshop left its mark here by buffing some of the texture off the rubber trim. It has a flat/dull look from the factory, and where their buffer went over it you can see the darker/shinier rubber where the texture was rubbed off.
Bodyshop compound in the crevices....
Starting to look better
Thanks for looking!
