bird dropings

Hi guys, My friend has a 2004 BMW and asked me to remove a stain that was left by a bird droping. He left it on the car for about a week before bothering to remove it! He then tryed removing the bird droping with a SCOTCH BRITE PAD. So far i clayed the car and used SSR2.5 but there is still a quarter size mark left by the bird droping. P.S. I used a pc with a LC yellow pad. Any help would be appreciated on what I should try next. thanks

His experience is a good example of why it is so important to get the bird crap off as soon as possible.
My son's red Honda was left for a little over a week while he was out of town. One bird dropping must have had battery acid in it. We never did get rid of it entirely.
Unfortunately, it may not be a stain on the paint, it may be a stain in the paint.
Klasse AIO is a favorite of mine, but if the PB's SSR2.5 didn't take it out, you may have a problem with AIO doing much with the stain.
Remember that when you use an abrasive product, you not only are removing the contaminant, you are removing some of the paint as well. You don't want to damage the clearcoat.

Thanks guys for the reply. I'll give AIO a try. Any one else have the same problem? P.S. I was told by a few people that BMW paint is very soft. Could this be the reason why the bird droping ate into the clear.

Aio won't do it.

The 94 Olds I just bought had a bird poop spot on the top that I'd guess had been there for years.

I used the PC set on 6 with a polish pad and SSR 3 and it's gone! No sign of the mark and it looked like it would be there for the life of the car. G-O-N-E!!! :D

I've had a couple experiences with this. On one car, a dropping left for just over 24 hours etched into the clearcoat so badly that you can see AND feel the edges. Can't get that on out, although multiple repeats of 3M Perfect-it II Fine Cut Rubbing compound helped level the edges so it's not as noticible.

One more recently was almost exactly the same, I thought, until I went back to the PI-II FCRC and after three passes, it was gone.

Both of these looked like the clearcoat had been "eaten" from the underside, very ugly. The second wasn't nearly as bad as the first, I suspect it wasn't as strong/wasn't there in mid-summer sun.

Anyway, go to the abrasives if AIO doesn't get it out. They should at least help.

blue skies,
Andrew

Thanks again for the replys. I guess i'll have to try something more aggressive. Don't have any SSR3 but I do have 3M fine cut. Hope I don't dammage the clear coat when all this is done.

I've had some cars that have had this and what I found is if SSR3 does not take it out the acid has etched the CC. I wet sanded the area and that took it off. Depending on the color allot times I tell the customers that its something that I can be lighten up to a point that you won't see it but that it will always be there in certain lights, most are ok with that. Hell they are the ones that left it on there for to long before removing it
