Bird bomb vs DG 105 = no contest

I gave my wife's truck her spring polish and fresh topping a week ago and applied the second coat of DG 105 Tuesday. I noticed a dime sized bomb on her hood and did the usual presoak w/ QD, waited about 30 secs. and went to absorb it w/ a mf cloth....it slid off! Like it was on Teflon!

I've used 6 or 7 lsps in the past and believe I found the winner.

Interesting.. My impression from reading around was that as DG105 is a sealant, it is relatively weak with bird-bomb protection as compared to carnaubas like Collinite and such.

I've seen sealants do the same thing to bird bombs, so it isn't a sealant v carnauba thing.

It's funny to come out to your car in the parking lot to see a splotch of doo beading up and running off the paint. :D

Also, all bird doo is not created equal. It depends whether little Tweety had his metamucil today or not that will greatly affect how corrosive it is to the paint.

Down south we have a weed called polk berry, purple berries on a burgandy stalk plant. You won't believe what a bird can do after a meal of those!
