Bird Atomic Bomb Removal

That was one nasty BB :scared:

I had a BB a few days ago and used a 4:1 APC and blasted it with my Nomad pressure washer using DI water. It worked out quite well.

That was discusting. I think I'm gonna puke :scared: Nice save however
Thanks!

Your process seemed to work well Jeff.

I usually soak the BB in ONR QD, and cover it with a MF and soak that as well. Let it sit for a few and lift up the BB. Don't wipe it off. This always yields good results for me.

I did not have ONR at work but maybe I should?

Must be a Jersey bird from the Meadowlands dump site :-B

No, not a dig on the NJ folks, just been up there before. Those should not be called seagulls, they are small aircraft with feathers!

This bird was a Mortons Steak house...trust me!

Don't be hatin' on Jersey Harry. That was a Long Island bird. Most of the dumps you speak of are in Staten Island, NY.

Next time you are in Jersey, look me up!!

Not sure where he is from but I hope he was just passing through!

I like to use spray wax for cleaning it up .

I would be afraid to grind the stuff into the car. Do you get any marring?
I do applaud your diligence about the removal!

My wife's black car has a new etch mark thanks to some bird droppings that were sitting there for a couple of days..

I had a car (Silver) that got etched and since then I am Paraniod!

That looked awfully tasty. Nice save!

Thanks-Its a dirty job!

No , no marring . But I let it soak for a minute to make sure everything is really wet and very gently scoop it up. Gentle and wet is key.

So my wife calls me on the way home and says that some birds bombarded everyones cars at her office. I'm like "no problem, I got this".

She gets home, and, there's around 10-12 quarter sized spots on her car. And they seem to be bonded to the paint!

It took lot's of ONR @ QD strength, and lot's of scrubbing to remove them.

But as a result, there are now some new scratches on her super soft black infiniti paint.

Yeah, I should have let them soak some more, or maybe tried Optimum power clean instead of ONR

Pressure washer, if available would help. Scrubbng is never good when there is any grit involved. I hear you... and feel your pain on the black infiniti paint. Menzerna's line works well on the paint if you are inclined to polish it.

I actually don't own a pressure washer. I honestly was just being lazy, and not giving the solutions enough time. I was tired, and suffering from a cold, so that's my excuse :)

I actually have some Menzerna P085 that I need to figure out how to use, so maybe in the spring I'll give it a whirl and see what happens!

I'd already gotten the paint pretty darn good with lot's of trial and error, and settling on M105 with Surbuf followed by some M205 with white/black.

I am not someone to be teaching paint correction or even paint correction advise. All I can tell you is that from my own experience on black infiniti paint the 105,205 combo dusted horribly for me. The Menzerna on a Flex gave me the best results to date. I plan on improving my skills when it gets warmer. I have menz 203 and 85rd. There were recommended to my by David from Street Dreams. His perscription was as follows:
Menzerna Powerfinish used with a LC tangerine pad. That should be enough to compound out the swirls and defects. Menzerna 106FA is a medium/finishingh polish to be used with a LC white or black foam pad. I used the white. (thanks Dave-You Da man!)

I used it on a Flex with about 10 lbs of pressure. My biggest mistake prior to my sucess was moving the machine too fast and not breaking the polish down until its almost clear.

Good Luck.
