Big Bulb....

I bought this on a recommendation from another member of this forum.

This thing is HUGE!! The picture does not do it justice. After changing every bulb in my house to compact fluorescents, seeing this behemoth is shocking!!!

It is a full 12" long.

Topbulb - Light Bulb, light bulbs, lightbulb, lightbulbs, lite bulb, litebulb, light buld, ge light bulb, philips, light bulb, osram light bulb, sylvania light bulb, halogen light bulb, fluorescent light bulb, compact fluorescent light bulb, long lif about $30.00. Bright, long lasting, uses only 85 watts of electricity and has the output of a 300 watt incandescent bulb.

Highly recommended.:wow:

I'm looking at a flourescent work light at HD (Husky) that is 84 watts as well. It outputs 360 degrees. How bright is that light?

Its great for the small garage I have it in. 12' X 22'. I have the 5500k. If I had 2, one in the front and one in the back, it would be MORE than enough lighting.

Luckily this garage has been at 50 degrees without heat. I think I ahve the heat in the house up too high, my wife is constantly complaining.

I have low-temp versions in the outside of my house. They claim to ignite in up to 20 degrees below. Top Bulb sells them also.

Don't get me started...there's no way (right now) to get rid of the damn things when they burn out. My town recycling yard won't take them, but I can wait for the once or twice a year county haz mat collection event. How many people won't want to bother or won't know they have mercury in them and throw them in the garbage? Between that and the breakage issue...it's almost comical that they have driven the price down so low that everyone will have tons of them in their house (I have a bunch already).

TEMP in 54, outside 40

Someone "stole" my Nikon last week. I had a bunch of workers at the house and dont know when it walked. This is a little pocket Fuji F31 that I keep in the car. Sorry for the low quality. I just ordered a Nikon D40x, should have it Saturday.

Sweet bulb! I have a 150W clear incandescent that might be getting replaced.

SpoiledMan... If I'm looking at the right one, the light output is 5440 lumens. In comparison a 100W incandescent puts out about 1500 lumens.

What about low-temp startup issues with that baby in the garage?

Agreed. We had a pair of 4 foot fluorescent fixtures put in the garage with outdoor ballasts.
