BHB Comparison

You're the second Autopian I can think of who was involved with rare books. There's a lot to know on that topic.

My Montana BHB I used to use for lower panels has been retired to wheel duty for a while now.

I woulda thought the Montana just a bit on the gentle side for lower panels, but I bet most people don't let things get nearly as bad as I do between washes. I mean...the Montana/Blonde is fine for something like my S8, but it'd take a lot of passes to get the "big stuff" off of the Tahoe or the Crown Vics. Not that I won't probably use it for that once my last set of GG ones get too worn down...but it's gonna be one of those "kinda too gentle" situations where I start thinking about a pressure washer again.

My main purpose for using the BHB on the lower panels, painted sides of mud flaps, etc. is similar. In my case, I'm just looking to get off some of the larger contamination prior to washing the whole car. I'll admit that my methods are more heavy handed than yours so I'm probably removing more grime with each pass. One thing I wish that brush had though (aside from no excess glue at the base) was a little more bristle density.

So your Montana *does* have the excess adhesive? Hmm...glad none of my Universal Brush BHBs do.

I actually like the bristle density. I can see how one might wish for more, but the, uhm...moderate density..works well with my foamgun-centric wash technique, allowing good flow-through/flushing; basically zero dirt in the rinse bucket as the BHB doesn't retain any to speak of.
