BFWD over D301

Trying to keep my time down on an Escape. Instead of my usual m205 I was going to use D301 since it dusts less and works a bit quicker (plus I've got a bunch of it from a misorder). Will BFWD have the same results over an AIO?

Not an answer for your question, but i am interested in reading the answers you get about it. Where do you find D301? i am curious to try it, yet have never found it.

he's referring to Meguiars DA Microfiber Finishing Wax. a part of the meguiar's microfiber correction system. it's a wax/polish combination aio.
normally, bfwd is applied to a polished, clean, smooth surface and is sometimes overcoated with a wax like bfms. i'm sure the bfwd would stick to the d301 finish but may not be quite as durable as normal, todd will definitely be the expert to ask. i do know that bfwdps can be applied to a waxed finish. you wouldn't want to overcoat the bfwd with d301 due to the polishing agents d301 also contains. bftps is a very good step saver you may want to try.

I have no direct experience with these products, but in genral sealants do not bond well to waxes. I have heard of perople topping BFWD and other sealants eith carnuba waxes. I prefer straight sealants on DD's becasue I feel they last longer, look great and self clean (meaning hold less contamination) easier savng me time.

As stated the durability of BFWD will be compromised. A wipe down with IPA should solve that problem. Should only add about 10 minutes but that is probably less than the time to clean up the dust from 205. BFTPS would be a better way to go as you could simply stop there or add BFWD directly on top for better coverage and durability.

I am curious as to how you can make 205 dust? I have never had 205 dust. Perhaps you are using too much product or not cleaning your pad on the fly?

Thank you.

Steve hit this one on the head. BFWD will "work" on top of D301, no problem. You will not get the full durability of BFWD however as it will not bond completely (although, given the circumstance, it will do a very admirable job).
