BFWD Beading?

So i bought a bottle of BFWD after reading about how much everybody loves it, but i am not impressed by the beading compared to 845. Did I apply it wrong? Not use enough? Not let it cure long enough? Does anybody have pictures of what it should look like?

I took these earlier in the rain.

ew. i dont have any pictures for you. but ive used blackfire wet diamond many times. and have always gotten good beading. nothing like that. Did you shake the bottle really well first? it tends to seperate when it sits

Yeah i did, but I'm going to end up stripping anything that's on my paint off, doing an IPA wipedown, and reapplying it. I have never had a problem applying sealants in the past and i was wondering what i did wrong and if anybody has ever had this problem.

That doesn't look like BFWD to me at all. It is a very strong beader when first applied and does well for months, though its nothing compared to 845. Did you apply it late at night and let dew settle on it? Moisture impedes the curing of BFWD.

ah ha! Yes i did apply it light at night, i guess that could be it...

Yep, that is probably it, you need very dry paint for it to bond well. The new water based sealants really need to "dry" to cure. Dew and/or rain within 12 hours really compromises their adhesion.

how long do you generally wait before you wipe the sealant after application?

I usually do the whole car, then wipe it all off, but that isn't what affects it as much as AFTER you wipe it off. If you don't let it cure and it gets moist, it will not bond well.

Was the car clayed and polished?

clayed, not polished. I washed it with CG CWG, foamed it beforehand to strip the old NXT2.0 that was on it. Clayed it, then ONR'd. I can't remember if i did an IPA wipedown or not, i think i did but i'm unsure.
