BFWD All Finish Paint Protection - Thumb's Up!

Sorry guys I think i was confusing the issue

Bought PC 7336sp @ Home Depot

Checking prices @Can Tire cause they had Accessories there.

The pads where on the shelf @ $20, plus

Can Tire Price $229.00 7424

Home Depot price $190.00 7336sp

Most stores today do a price match, if you can find a home depot to give you the price on paper Can Tire should match. Maybe just go in and tell them of the price. They may reduce right there to make a sale. If you want a 7336sp I'll see if I can help.

Need your store address or store # and I'll call my home depot & see what they can do.

BBOY - The number I have on my receipt is 39404742407 I hope this helps...

The pad that comes with the machine Sucks, I used it on my friends Car. I will now use the meguiar pads on my car

Bboy - Do you post on any other boards like TSR ?

I went to a local Canadian Tire today...They had an PC 7424 for $229.99. They had a small catalog next to it and behind it was a page of coupons/rebates, there was one of $50 off the PC7424 but unfortunately it expired on Dec 31, 2001. I asked when the next catalog and they said end of April, I hope they have another coupon. They also have the PC foam pad for $24.99. I took a look at their new 2002 Keystone catalog, they carry Absorbers and Meguiars professional line also.

P.S. Has anyone tried the new line of Simoniz microfiber products?

I ordered the PC 7336SP yesterday from International tool here in the states in Florida. $112.90 delivered to my door, for shipment outside the US they add on another $7.00. They were out of stock as I spoke to them yesterday but are expecting a shipment by the end of the week and then they'll ship. Just thought I would add this in here for the Canadian members, seems like it might still be a good deal for those that might be interested.

I figure after exchange and taxes you'll pay at the border you might save about $12.00 Is it worth it? If there is a problem with the PC and it needs servicing will a Canadian repair centre fix it?

Buldog - I was just at a repair centre for Porter cable in mississauga, i ordered my 6" counter weight and an extra wrench. They are all over the place, you can look under DELTA machines as they are the same brand as Porter Cable.

Just a quick compliment about BFWD AFPP, after sitting on my shelf for a while (due to excessive products) I decided to use it on a Volvo XC90 wash n' wax over the weekend. I can honestly say it was my best experience with the product to date and I do plan to use it more now.

I know, I know, this thread is useless without pics. But the main point is the customer was very, very happy with the results!

Thank you for your comment rwright, ProperAutoCare has been working hard to make a product that will put a smile on your face and your car will thank you for it. We'll here help everyone be happy!

OK....it would seem that you would be in a position to answer a question that I have yet to get a detailed straight up answer to. I have the Blackfire products but haven't had the chance to use them yet. From the post I have read, Why is it so difficult to get pads clean after using Blackfire as compared to other brands?

It's very oily..even Dawn has a tough time cutting through it. BTW I'm speaking about Blackfire Wet Diamond Sealant, can't speak for their polishes or compound.

I gave up trying to clean them out. I just wash the pad let it dry and place it in a zip lock labeled BFWD and dedicate the pads and applicators to the BFWD. NO problem. I am happy with the products performance and ease of use so it is not a big deal to me.

I agree with Jeff's statement. Clean it the best you can, and don't worry about what is left on the pad. Dedicate that pad to BFWD and you won't have any issues. If it is that difficult to get out of the pad, just thing how long it will last on your paint!

This is probably the best answer you will receive and I agree 100% too. I'm sure there are more scientific answers such as how porous a sponge is which allows the polymers to wrap completely around, but the answer you most likely seek has been listed above. Not sure about you but I prefer products that don't just wash away that are designed to last and protect paint. :)

A little BFWD goes a long way, the trick for me is every time I apply it to the pad I'm sure to space it out, I try not to put it in the same spot if I can. I spread it thin also, it seems to give me the same coverage if I were just putting it dead center like I use to (yes, gummy ain't even the word!), I tried using Snappy Pad Cleaner instead of Dawn, so far my newest blue foam finishing pad seems good.

Todd...I have a question about the Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish and figure you may know. I recently detailed my truck...washed with Chemical Guys Citrus shampoo ( concentrated solution to remove was and oils)...clay ...then wash again...applied BGEP inside the garage (out of the direct sunlight) with a PC at speed 4. Went over each panel 5 passes but when I went to test if it was dry enough to remove it would smear even after 20 min or so. I was expecting it to be dry and remove similar to Optimum Poli-Seal. TOO much polish? I used about two dime size dots per panel. On a 2010 Ford Super Crew those are big door panels. If that's too much then how little would you recommend? And...do you work it until it's gone or dry? I"m confused. The polish came off but the "wipe it off" turned into "rub it off"

Thanks
Jim

Hi Jim, I really don't know. (I wish I did). I don't use GEP too much (rarely). However I have sent a PM to several people who I trust and I know use GEP fairly regularly.
