Beware of the Car Wash Monster

while seeing my dad over christmas he asked me if i could get some scratches out of his truck that he says got there from the auto car wash and one mobile guy he called recently, so upon inspection this is what i found

top of tailgate

above front of driver side bed

passenger driver door (looks like marks from the edge of one of those crappy brushes)

these scratches were all pretty bad. the strongest thing i had was pinnacle advanced swirl remover and an orange ccs hand pad, i smoothed them all out but they're still there. i think they are at the point to where he needs touchup paint

no scratches just liked the picture

found some pics from back in june when i first cleaned it for him, i REALLY really like the color of this truck (i think its called steel blue or something)

same door that is now scratched

if i remember correctly that was XMT finishing glaze topped with opti-seal (picture taken before i finished small details like exhaust tips)

as i digress, moral of the story is to watch out for the car wash monster, both auto and manual- but i think we already know that

just wanted to share what that car wash monster did to my dad's vehicle

sadly he doesn't keep vehicles long enough (2 years max) to even justify using the black label coating, maybe once he gets his new truck this coming year

well in all fairness all i did was round off the edges...dr color chip does not make touch up paint for that limited edition color-go figure.

he is going to order touchup paint from dodge and i will fix it for him later in jan. im sure there will be others..at least my step mother wont let anyone touch her car except me...poor benz only gets washed every other month-but its almost a year old and doesn't have a single wash induced scratch
