Best wheel paint?

I want to paint my Toyota wheels . I have wheel covers but you can still see the exposed wheel and they look like crap now even though they are only 2 years old.
Any suggestions for the best lasting aresol wheel paint ?Thanks!:)

I assume you just want them black? I've always used Dupli-color wheel paint, but I can't comment on longevity as I'll usually paint them a different color before a year is up!

I cant decide if I want to paint them black or just sand and clear coat the black wheels. I dont need anything fancy because they arent that visible .Probably I will go with clearcoat .I see they have dupi color at my auto parts store so thanks!

+1 on Duplicolor. I usually give them a couple coats of clear to add to the longevity and overall look. Makes them look a little more factory that way.

Hey DC !

That Shadowchrome Blackout coating looks great. it is designed to go over chrome wheels. If you have chrome wheels already, it will have that same look.

I think it looks great too ! The only thing I would do differently is place the wheels on a piece of plywood or something in a way that I can walk around them and not have to spray, stop, move the wheel, spray, stop, move the wheel.
It is always nice to keep the spray can the same distance from the wheel all the way around so you can be assured of getting an equal amount of paint on the wheel.

You van should have nice contrast if you do this I bet !

Thanks for pointing that out guys!:inspector:My wheels are not Chrome!

I wont be taking the wheels off my van ,I will be masking everything off.

Some auto paint suppliers can mix oem paint and get it on spray can. Cost is around 20 bucks, but you'll be getting better material on your wheels...

I hear Plasti Dip is also some good stuff for wheels. Anyone ever try it?

I've seen lots of pictures of plastidip wheels on other forums....
I am thinking this is something I might try...since you can remove it so easy....
Check out this site...ww.dipyourcar.com lots of how to's and examples....

I have heard nothing but amazing things about Wurth's wheel paint. I have a little road rash on a small piece of my wheel. I will be testing this out and doing a quick write up.

Thats worth checking into!thanks!

I cannot however be spraying anything toxic/illegal in my neighborhood(doing them at home,no garage)Lots of little kids and dogs around. Ca is very strict about this kind of thing.

Thanks Todd.

I was looking at Wurths also and like that is laquer. Dries quiker and less over spray than enamal.

Heard anything about it durability?

I searched around home and found I had some left over laquer clear coat so I decided to do just one wheel and see how it came out with just the clear over the already black wheel .

Came out great , so I ordered the Wurth laquer clearcoat .

I really wanted to go with the Dupi-color because its much cheaper and available at my local auto parts store but for my situation spraying laquer is so much easier .

I hope the one can is enough for my 3 other wheels! Now I cant stand having only one wheel look good ! Please rush my order Autopiastore!:D

Looking forward to your results (maybe even some pictures?). Everything I have ever tried from Wurth has been extremely high quality, so I am excited for your thoughts as well.
